Rural people will become Serfs is what the USAToday printed a few days back.

www.usatoday.com...

Rural people will be Serfs if not for the Electoral College. A place where some balance is given to what is needed for each citizen to be treated fairly as possible. That is why George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Alexander Hamilton, Ben Franklin, John Adams and so many others risked their lives. To setup a place all people, especially Rural people get a fighting chance against tyrannical government. The power grabbers have circumvented the COTUS to achieve control of our resources and maintain their power.

Is it right for two or three states to control what the rural part of the US needs without their representation having equal standing in our Congress and Executive branches?

To kill the EC would be to kill the goose that lays a golden egg. Our enemies have tried everything to bring us to our knees because you can be free to get rich here and you can tell us all to go to hell and not go to jail for it.

A good question to ask yourselves:

How many people are flooding our borders to move out of the US?

What we appear to have are control freaks trying to control our every aspect.

That is tyranny.

The Electoral College is a brilliant concept.

The president is elected if. . . if the majority of people in the majority of counties in the majority of states vote for him, or her.

Anything else is just tyranny of the mob.

We see the founders were very deliberate to give the Constitutional Convention and the COTUS a full vetting that had the States agree to Ratify the COTUS by vote. After the approval of COTUS as official, the new states agreed to follow it as they joined the Union. Without a way to be fair to their citizens, there had to be balance and the Electoral College provides it.

Even that allows more votes for CA and NY over most all the rest of the US based on populations. Yet, the whole concept is any person can succeed if they try. Not just Royalty.

The majority would win every presidential election. The majority is the liberal left. I agree with our founding fathers on this topic.

The majority was what the Soviets used as their measuring stick. 1st they eliminate the opposition then they were in the majority and anyone who popped up was executed for crimes against Mother Russia.

The majority does win every election.

But it is the majority of people in the majority of counties in the majority of states.

Al Gore would have won the 2000 presidential election and Hilary would have won 2016 if majority ruled.

Need I repeat myself?

The majority was represented, the majority of all 50 states.

"Balance, grasshopper" said the Monk to Qua Chang in "Kun Fu". Balance because most of us truly are in the middle of the Bell curve and any extreme is not desired by a whopping majority of us.

Exactly. They have obvious taken note of the scientific studies that have been done on mob and herd mentality. Heck this study was released back in 2014. Questioning on whether we are programmed to make bad decisions via emotional angst.

A natural desire to be part of the 'in crowd' could damage our ability to make the right decisions, a new study has shown. Research has shown that individuals have evolved to be overly influenced by their neighbors, rather than rely on their own instinct. As a result, groups become less responsive to changes in their natural environment.

How will the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact , consisting of 14 blue states and the District of Columbia, be stopped ? Could we be facing some sort of judicial or legislative road-block to the election in 2020 ?

Isn't that their point/goal?

Trump won approximately 2,600 counties to Clinton’s 500, or about 84% of the geographic United States.

Clinton won 88 of of the 100 largest counties (including Washington D.C.). Without these 100 largest counties she would have lost by 11.5 million votes.

Conservatives Dominate the Map

My favourite excerpt from the USA Today piece is:

The idea that every vote should count equally is attractive. But a quote often attributed to Benjamin Franklin famously reminds us that democracy can be “two wolves and a lamb voting on what’s for lunch.

(City dwellers who think that meat comes from the grocery store might not understand why this is such a big problem for the lamb.) And when you think about it, every check on government power, from the Electoral College to the Bill of Rights, is a restraint on the majority

It is telling, I think, that the movement to abolish (or short circuit) the Electoral College process is being pushed by the left...masquerading as Democrats..who are frustrated that their relatively tiny enclaves of popular support cannot control the entire country.

What is sad - and quite shortsighted - is that so far 13 States have voted to abdicate their responsibilities to the voters of their own (Sovereign) States, in favour of the overall vote count of the nation. There are very clear reasons...all of which inure to the benefit of the individual States...why the Electoral College was created, and why the Senate has two members from each State (without regard to the population of the State).

Careful where you step America.

It's amusing to me how many "progressive" leftists support abolishing the electoral college. Especially when if you actually use your brain and think about it getting rid of the electoral college is really a Trumpian populist concept. Something everything in their ideals they claim to be against. But in this case, it happens to favor the left so they are all for it.

Just goes to show you that these people are nothing but hypicrits and opportunists and not the progressive idealists they claim to be. Complete frauds.
