Yet the the mighty king can be brought low by a tiny scratch from his rusty crown or from the bread from his table.

The meek are resilient, patient, stalwart, and usually the last man standing.

You hear the tales of the mighty and their destruction, but the tales often hide the truth of the cost of their brief history of fame. Those brought down not by the sword but by disease and madness. Glory in the myth but little glory in the man.

Why would A Good God or Metaphysical Laws allow this?

That should tell you a lot about a God and/or Metaphysical Laws.....as in they don't exist and we are not judged by them. We are the only judges of what we do.

Because 99% of humans subconsciously have the misfortune of living in denial are selfish, corrupt opportunists, negligent and true to their unfortunate pre chosen path to feeding the negitive soul.

Its not necessarily their fault, their born pre chosen to pre programmed parents to keep the darkside charged, is it any wonder we are born kicking and screaming? We know before our memories are wiped by tormentive timed dna sequence just after birth that we've arived at planet slavery.

God doesn't allow this that's why we're here in the first place.

Solution - wake up, do not participate in feeding the system, show no interest in accumulated wealth (yours or theirs), only do the absolute minimum work required to survive and spend the rest of your time searching for spiritual peace.

Then , show others the way.

Said it before on ATS all you got to do is look at Jimmy Carter a good decent Navy man, but hounded by the yankee press for his southern roots and his brother from the beginning, of course then he was slammed with 3Mile Island the Iranian Hostage situation and the fail hostage rescue so much so when Ronald brokered the release till after the election, the media was silent at this blatant political move with Americans freedom at stake. Iranians once they agreed wanted to release immediately

You know why Jesus did not put himself in power when he was on earth as a human. He could have done that.
It is all about time.
Time to grow, time to reap and time to burn the chaff.

1 John 5:19 We know that we are of God, and the whole world lies in the power of the evil one.

Keep in mind that power and money here in this place are as meaningless as our bodies. This is a temporary thing.

Luke 4:5 Then the devil led Him up to a high place and showed Him in an instant all the kingdoms of the world. 6“I will give You authority over all these kingdoms and all their glory,” he said. “For it has been relinquished to me, and I can give it to anyone I wish. 7So if You worship me, it will all be Yours.”…

The whole world has been deceived even about what is and what is not important

Revelation 12:9
And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

World leaders serve one master

Matthew 6:22-24
"The eye is the lamp of the body; so then if your eye is clear, your whole body will be full of light. "But if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the light that is in you is darkness, how great is the darkness! "No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to one and despise the other You cannot serve God and wealth.

The bully seems unbeatable at first, and he is until the victim stands up and fights back.

As for why a good God would allow such things, that is the nature of free will. God gave us life and the ability to make decisions for ourselves. The results of our decisions are the price paid for the ability to make them.

Very wisely stated.

Would it be worth living if everything God wished us to do was forced on us? Cant smoke a cig so the flame won't like the tobacco or can't get drunk, so the booze was never created. It is like a Communist style regime if it forces compliance but God asks us to follow his laws and then basically, any major failures will be judged later.

That presupposes one knows the mind of god, further which god, which laws.

Where do you stop.

Does god in the "render unto Caeser" quote in the New Testament condone a Tax Code with over 10,000 laws.

LOL

These are mans laws dressed up as being of God...to limit one and keep in line.

A god of abundance would never "limit", or create a paradox of free will whilst proclaiming omniscience.

Have you ever checked to see if you have freewill?

There maybe an assumption that there is a thinker separate from thought......
Can the next thought to arise be known prior to it's occurrence?

Have you ever considered which laws are Stronger ? Those of God or Those of Men ?

And how does one establish the laws of God or of the Men/Humans ?

You see, here on earth you have the choice between Good and what will bring you pain.

God himself said, you can try things out, but always remember "I am Alpha and Omega" and you will return.

God does not allow neither disallow it. But You have to see it on in the Spiritual level before you can fall down to the "Material" level.

On the Spiritual level, there is only the love of God.

What God creates is like himself, and there is NOTHING, and i mean literally nothing beside Him.
What God creates is able to create like God, because that is the Justice,Love,Life and the Free will of God.

If you (your spiritual part) wants to try out things, then it has that freedom.
But creating unlike God can only cause the opposites of what God is. And God did not allowed the Total destruction of his creation: "God can not destoy himself, neither does he think in terms of destruction !".

For example if you want to try things out, you can not literally do it in God, you have to move away and split from God into nothingness.

Moving away from God, if God is love, for the human understanding, would be to : "Hate"
Moving away from God, if God is life, f.t.h.u, would be to: "Die"
Moving away from God, if God is perfection would be ... well you get the idea.

You can apply this formula to everything what God is, and see what the opposite of it is.

For example - if God is in the Eternity, then the opposite of the Eternity would be: Time. But time is nothing more than "Delay" - if correctly perceived.

If God is everything and is everywhere, then who could/would he attack, but himself. And obviously, being God, he would only destroy himself (in this case).

To understand God and his "Ways": if God, for human terms, would decide to destroy the earth, in 10billions years from now on, you would/could not read or write this NOW, neither would anything that was in the past, been at all.
You obviously do read this, and so you can be sure that god is not MAD but SANE.

If you could understand that God is sane, then, some of his creation had some insane thoughts, and did not allowed God to "Purify" them.
Having made the Error, it had to 'Perpetuate' it, because a Plant has to Grow from its seed. But when you misunderstand the seed as the source of life, then the next plant will be governed under the same laws (or produce the seeds of that plant).
(this is what you experiencing now, but the question is: do you still want to believe what the snake has told - or do you want to believe what God wants you to see)

(Meaning of Growing plant is simply this: God's being is forever expanding and it can not stop)

But the bible said: "The Branch that bears no fruit will be cut off".

when you write:

Why would A Good God or Metaphysical Laws allow this?

With the right and sane understanding, the question should be not "Why does God/Laws allow it" but "Why is the same error repeating itself, and how can it be undone".

The truth of how power and greed proliferate is more prosaic than you imply. There is no mystery only ignorance.

Achieving power or material desires causes an emotional response, the response of the 'winner'. This triggers the relevant biochemical synapsis in the brain.

By this process, the brain is physically changed. The brain then craves more of the same, forever chasing the dragon, the lizard is born. Each success grows the lizard. The lizard becomes the dragon it has been chasing, it no longer has any connection to other people and certainly, not those not of it's ilk. Compassion has died. Other people are mere chattels, owned or not, there to be exploited by the callous lizard.

Like attracts like, each success brings further success, it matters not to the lizard who is destroyed, only that it gets what it wants. It is a dark energy within attracting dark energy to bring more of what is desired.

Outside of our awareness, god is god and none of us knows what that means. Free will is not about anything other than god. Do you choose or reject god?

If you don't reject god, you can still experience the highest form of human awareness, the ability to feel compassion.

To the hardened and callous, this will make you look weak. But really the lizard fears the compassionate. It fears what it does not understand. It suspects it has already lost and cannot understand why. It is insane. You cannot beat it on it's terms. It cannot beat the compassionate, it can only exploit or kill, it cannot win.

Death is not the end.

Fear and hate would be the main reason I guess in such a wild world... philosophically any way. Kindness and softness would be considered absolutely insane, it almost like a father forgiving a murderer who killed the son. It defies their understanding.

A person dies and while another is born, maybe even two. They both become friends, one gets a job while the others a thief.

Water can cut through rock while rock guides it path.

If whence evil cometh was merciful, then Thanos was right. And even evil would tremble at it enemy who had the will to live.

Competition is an important part of the genetic evolution process. It is just the way it is.

... It did not happen overnight and we cannot change it all.

Some claim that violence is inherent in people. Others argue that senseless crimes cannot be explained as an unavoidable part of human nature.

Some argue that the propensity for violence or killing has always been inborn in humans. Supporters of evolution maintain that we come from wild animals and have simply inherited their violent characteristics. Such theories would leave us doomed to an endless cycle of violence from which there is no hope of escape. In your words: “it is just the way it is . . . we cannot change it”.*

However, there is much evidence to the contrary. The theories mentioned above do not explain why in different cultures there are wide variations in frequency and types of violence. They do not indicate why in some cultures responding with violence seems to be the norm, whereas other societies report very little violence, with murder almost nil. Psychoanalyst Erich Fromm exposed cracks in the theory that we inherit aggression from primates by pointing out that although some of them are violent as a result of physical needs or for self-protection, humans are the only ones who have been known to kill for the sheer thrill of killing.

In their book The Will to Kill—Making Sense of Senseless Murder, Professors James Alan Fox and Jack Levin state: “Some individuals are more prone to violence than others, yet free will still exists. The will to kill, though governed by numerous internal and external forces, still includes choice and human decision making, and thus accountability and culpability.”

*: even though you changed the wording of the subjects described in the OP as “violence” and in the thread title as “cruelty” (which includes a form of violence among other forms of cruelty) and “greed” (which could lead to these other forms of cruelty, such as exploitation that may or may not include a form of violence), to “competition” (possibly to make it sound more benign, or perhaps you prefer that subject for some reason). Competition need neither be cruel, greedy nor violent. Honest mutually respectful competition isn't. Just look at the Olympics.

As to the OP, this prophecy and statement in the Bible has proven to be true: “Wicked men and impostors will advance from bad to worse.”—2 Timothy 3:13.

Does this mean that mankind is doomed to an endless cycle of vicious violence and escalating crime and exploitation by “wicked men and imposters”? No. As is discussed in more detail here:

A Realistic Solution—Is It Possible? Awake!—2003

As to the question at the end of the OP, answers and a detailed discussion or look at what people throughout history have said about the subject can be found here:

Why Does God Allow Evil and Suffering? (Good News From God!)

This is one of the more detailed ones (still same answer though):

Why Does God Allow Suffering?—The Reason Why Suffering Began (What Does the Bible Really Teach?)

It also touches on the question asked in the title of this thread (see paragraphs 5-7, which contains part of the answer to the question above and the answer to the question in this thread's title, one answer for both questions, allbeit regarding the answer for the question above and at the end of the OP, there's a little bit more to it; which is why I didn't just want to blurt it out, although I have done so anyway in my comment below).

To avoid any confusion as to the meaning of the word “violence” as it's used in the context of the OP (not getting it confused with the word “competition”), what is the Bible's viewpoint on violence? How does God view violence?

What people say:

Many, including religious people, feel that violence is a justifiable response to provocation. And millions consider media violence to be an acceptable form of entertainment.

What the Bible says:

Near the city of Mosul, in northern Iraq, lie the ruins of a once great city—Nineveh, the capital of the ancient Assyrian Empire. While the city was still a thriving metropolis, the Bible foretold that God would “make Nineveh desolate.” (Zephaniah 2:13) “I will make a spectacle of you,” God said. The reason? Nineveh was a “city of bloodshed.” (Nahum 1:1; 3:1, 6) And “Jehovah detests violent . . . people,” states Psalm 5:6. As Nineveh’s ruins testify, God acted on his words.

“Jehovah . . . hates anyone who loves violence.”—Psalm 11:5.

Violence originated with the archenemy of both God and man—Satan the Devil, whom Jesus Christ called “a murderer.” (John 8:44) Moreover, because “the whole world is lying in the power of the wicked one,” his traits are reflected in popular attitudes toward violence, including the world’s infatuation with media violence. (1 John 5:19) To please God, we must cultivate a hatred for violence and a love for what God loves.* Is that possible?

*: God did allow ancient Israel to engage in war in order to defend its territory. (2 Chronicles 20:15, 17) That situation changed, however, when God terminated his covenant with Israel and established the Christian congregation, which has no borders.

Can violent people change?

What people say:

Violence is simply a reflection of human nature, which does not change.

What the Bible says:

Put away “wrath, anger, badness, abusive speech, and obscene talk.” It also says: “Strip off the old personality with its practices, and clothe yourselves with the new personality.” (Colossians 3:8-10) Is God asking too much of us? No. People can change. How?

The first step is gaining an accurate knowledge of God. (Colossians 3:10) When a person with a receptive heart learns about our Creator’s appealing qualities and standards, he is drawn to God in love and wants to please him.—1 John 5:3.

The second step is related to our choice of associates. “Do not keep company with a hot-tempered man or get involved with one disposed to rage, so that you never learn his ways and ensnare yourself.”—Proverbs 22:24, 25.

The third step involves insight. See the inclination toward violence for what it is—a serious weakness that reflects a lack of self-control. The peaceable, by comparison, have inner strength. “The one slow to anger is better than a mighty man,” says Proverbs 16:32. And not the other way around as some people may see “softness and kindness" as a “weakness” (quoting DBCowboy from page 1, although it was not clear if he associated those 2 things) and see the kind of exploitation described in the OP (possibly including violence) for example as “strength” and “power” (quoting DBCowboy again). Exploitation usually involves an abuse of power, but is not a sign of inner strength. It (exploitation, or for that matter cruelty and greed, or cruelty resulting from greed) too is a sign of weakness that reflects a lack of self-control.

“Pursue peace with all people.”—Hebrews 12:14.

“Woe to those who say that good is bad and bad is good,

Those who substitute darkness for light and light for darkness,

Those who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter!

Woe to those wise in their own eyes

And discreet in their own sight!”—Isaiah 5:20,21

Will violence ever end?

What people say:

Violence has always been with us and always will be.

What the Bible says:

“Just a little while longer, and the wicked will be no more . . . But the meek will possess the earth, and they will find exquisite delight in the abundance of peace.” (Psalm 37:10, 11) Yes, in order to save the meek and peaceable, God will do to lovers of violence what he did to ancient Nineveh. Thereafter, violence will never again mar the earth!—Psalm 72:7.

Song 133: Seek God for Your Deliverance
...from “wicked men and imposters” (2 Ti 3:12) who have exploited humanity for so long because of their greed and lack of self-control, using violence* more often than not.

*: I'm also thinking of exploiting violence for profit here, but I'm not sure I can describe things such as war profiteering as “using violence”. I guess I could but I would have to stipulate that I wasn't necessarily referring to those who conduct violent acts themselves but also those who promote it and create strife and start wars to benefit from it. More like exploiting violence (another way of 'using' violence).
