Well, all I can say here is that my participation is down. I still check in several times every day and did create one thread several days ago but I don't live for ATS.

Agree.

People have migrated to either:

Short YouTube videos: because thinking is too hard and you tube comments give ‘alert appeal’.

Or

Twitter: much easier to win an argument.

Forums are dead. They are the places where Dads hang out.

A look at the stats can prove interesting:

Total member accounts: 309,685
members who have posted: 169,023
percentage who have posted: 55 %
members with 20 or fewer posts: 106,765
members with 20 to 500 posts: 33,590
members with 500 to 1,000 posts: 2,995
members more than 1,000 posts: 3,539

Looks like a lot of members, but 45% have NEVER posted at all. Of those who have 106,765 have fewer than 20 posts. You can't cal them "active" in any sense of the word. 10% have 20-500 posts, which leaves those who have posted more than 500 times about 2%. These are the active members: 2%.

That puts things in perspective. The churn at ATS is astronomical. About 6500 people provide the large majority of content. That's how large the ATS "community" really is.
p

There is a HUGE lurker community here (myself guilty). I am on this site roughly 10-12 hours a day on and off, and rarely post.
I love the conspiracies but I am on this site for breaking "real" news. Our members have the MSM by the short and curlies regarding this.

Lurkers don't count. They don't contribute.

Is it just me or does it seem like ATS is kinda a ghost town lately???

The new forum posts don’t update very fast..

There are multiple home page articles that only have a couple pages of replies..

This was the premiere conspiracy forum on the net if ... if you googled conspiracy forum.. ATS was the first result.. it no longer is..

It isn’t even on the first page..

I was curious if there is anyway to check the log In rate over time??

Or if anyone else has noticed the same??

What is the cause???

Where is the 1st 'Home" page? There is one? Most of us...a lot...never log off...and choose which page to open with.

Personal choice, never seen ATS "start" or "main" or "home" pg.

You aren't tryin'!

It's the whole "social media" thing. People have no interest in doing much more than communicating the most shallow thought imaginable with the dumbest meme they can find anymore. We'll be drawing on cave walls again in a couple of decades at this rate.

300,000+ members!? 10's of 1,000's of post daily to weekly.

You wanna do it? I'd say they do a pretty good job 24-7, 365, year in and year out...even when you n me are sleeping...

And of those 6500, most have been active and gotten those 1000 posts at some point in time over the last 15 years. Majority are not currently active.

I'd say about 65 people provide the large majority of the content.
