I just started a new project at Los Alamos National Lab

I work in the environmental remediation industry. We are getting ready to mobilize on a demo/remediation project of one of the Technical Areas. Pretty nasty site, a lot of transuranic contamination including Plutonium. This will be an interesting one.

And the problem with remediation is wtf do you do with all that disgusting crap while you're waiting to process it? We had the same problem in the great lakes 2000 project, what do you do with thousands of tons of carcinogens prior to running them through a plasma furnace.

Of course, you have thousands of vacant hectares for temp storage :-)

I had heard that there is something you guys have that could clean up Plutonium, is that going to be the case?

If so, we can move now to all Nuclear power and let the Oil reserves not matter anymore. We would have to do some kind of combustion so we can have CO2 for plants and O2 production in a cycle of life. Earth creatures will thrive under that plan.
