This Map Shows Where in the World the U.S. Military Is Combatting Terrorism
The infographic reveals for the first time that the U.S. is now operating in 40 percent of the world’s nations

Less than a month after the 9/11 terrorist attacks, U.S. troops invaded Afghanistan to fight Al Qaeda and the Taliban.
More than 17 years later, the Global War on Terrorism is truly global, with Americans actively engaged in countering terrorism in 80 nations on six continents.

Wasn't it always the Smithsonian Institute? Now its INSTITUTION.. Sounds like an inside joke or sorts; sign of crazy times.

Anyways, was shocked to see the map lit up like a Xmas tree on their mag's map of all the countries America is at War on!

80 countries and growing strong, now over 40% of the world's remaining countries are being policed by US for terror.

Fear not.. rest assured with $6 trillion on war already spent, US will leave no rock unturned.

Well technically it's not half the world, 80 nations is barely a third of all nations.

Eleventy percent of facts are rubbish, 4 out of 3 people will tell you that, we must remember that the 'coalition' pretty much created the daesh by 'intervening' in Afghanistan which we all know lead to ISIS.

A complete waste of money. There will NEVER be peace in the Middle East.

$5.9 trillion dollars:

"Despite recently closing hundreds of bases in Iraq and Afghanistan, the United States still maintains nearly 800 military bases in more than 70 countries and territories abroad—from giant “Little Americas” to small radar facilities. Britain, France and Russia, by contrast, have about 30 foreign bases combined."

yes the small one's are easy targets... lets wait if they attack the big one's

is all planned in longway terms…. by time when 2/3 of the human populaion is whiped out in an global war there will be no global warming anymoore.
so the decision of the USA to step out of the global warming treaty's make sence...just an waist of money they need for weapons...

The United States' economy is driven by military expenditure. The wealthiest families in the country and world rely on that tax money flowing in to design and build their war machines. But not just them. Huge numbers of poor people rely on the military for jobs that support their families and keep them out of extreme dire poverty and unemployment.

So what are you gonna do? Have the tens of millions of people supported by the military just stop doing that and do something else? Like what? Fly into space? Not in the next 100 years, if we even survive that long.

Or perhaps other sectors could print money the way military does and thus create alternative jobs.

We should all be terrified.

Despite the enormous media coverage of terrorist acts, and according to the largest database available.

The number of terrorism deaths is very small compared with other causes of violent death.

You're more likely to die from being buried alive or from choking on food than at the hands of foreign-born terrorist attacking you on US soil.

So the fact is i really don't see what all the kerfuffle is about.

Can we not find a real enemy that actually substantially presents a problem or challenge rather than makeup then up? LoL

Because quite frankly it rather pathetic.

And what did the world do to stop the US?

By the way, how is the US paying for these?

I think that people of each coalition nation should force their governments to pull out. If the Middle East wants chaos, let them have it for as long as it does not spread all over the world. They leave us alone and we'll leave them alone.
