I was talking costs...not the merits of the drugs themselves.

I have schizophrenia and I've been on the same medication since 1997. The drug came out in 1997 at $300 for a months supply 30 pills $10 a pill.

The drug manufacturer Eli Lilly kept the drug at $300 for 15 years.

After 15 years the patent expired so generics could be made.

Eli Lilly owns the rights to the generic and non generic. They make both.

When they started making the generic they rose the price of the generic to $600 a month and the non generic to $900.

It's criminal if you ask me.

My sister in law just came back from Egypt on vacation. She said that she bought non generic prescription drugs for peanuts over there as she forgot to bring her medications for the trip. The drugs were so cheap she didn't even bother to use her co-pay card. She said that she then looked at other medication prices that are Non-Generic OEM drugs and all were dramatically lower cost as compared to the USA prices and she works in health care here.
