If this was just a one-time event, then you'd be correct.

But this is systemic of a larger issue and that is the concerted effort of the left to silence differing opinion.

We see it every day in the banning in social media, politicians attacks silent protesters, people attacked just for wearing hats, the media revels in it, many (like yourself) passively support it, so it is a bigger issue than you are willing to admit.

The "douche" that was attacked by the deranged "douche" was on FOX this morning.

He said he forgives the woman that attacked him.

I suppose that this thread, and people's reactions to it, should be taken as a microcosm example of the macrocosm illness that has befallen Western Society - and particularly those who inhabit the left half of it...and that is a problem that is worthy of examination and discussion.

Because, ultimately, this kind of behaviour (among many other things) leads to suppression - and then the elimination - of free speech. There are few larger issues in a society that wishes to remain free. Once free speech is gone, freedom is gone.

Laws are written, and must be followed for as long as they are laws. In various jurisidcitions, with various rules and limitations, abortion is legally permitted. But - and this is a big but - if, once a law is passed, we are prohibited from objecting to that law...we cannot speak ill of it, we cannot demonstrate against it, we cannot write op-eds, or social media posts, we cannot suggest amendments to it...tyranny reigns.

This young woman's actions speak very directly to this line of thinking, and where we have seen society moving over the last half-decade or so. These young men wished to share their view...quite graphically to make their point...that abortions are not something that they support. Since their view was different from hers, she felt entitled to physically assault them. She felt entitled to tell them they are "horrible people." She felt entitled to tell them to "shut the #% up", when they tried to calm her down.

Disturbingly, in this new era, the Left labels just about anyone that is right of mid-left with a string of perjoratives meant to establish with anyone within earshot (or electronic imprint) that they are (choose one or choose them all) Alt-right, White Supremacist, Nazi, Racist, Xenophic, Deplorable, Intolerant, Fascist, Priviledged...just evil and beneath contempt.

Where is this headed? If you do not support Socialism/Communism and all of the thought rules associated with these ideologies then your are "bad". If you speak out loud about your opposition to these ideologies, then you are not only bad but you will be declared "dangerous". When you are declared dangerous, then you will be denied access to social media...then to payment services, then to banking services, then to employment, then to modes of transportation, then to accomodation.

You will be arrested, then re-educated. If you resist you will be punished. If you remain unbowed, you will be disappeared...and noone may thereafter speak your name.

Impossible? It has all already begun.

Still think this little incident was not worhty of discussion on ATS?

Yeah, and "some people did some things" is a valid description of a larger event. How can you sit there and with a straight face diminish the context of this story to fit your own liberal agenda? Honestly? You do not understand the meaning of that word, or have so warped and twisted its meaning to make it totally irrelevant to all your discussions.

What a sad and sheltered life you must lead to find the need to diminish a physical assault on an innocent person in an attempt to shut down his free speech and opinion. But then, your tactic of diminishing the narrative surely fits that same bill, albeit quite passive aggressively.
