Capitalism only works if a specific nation adopts it and is open to the global free market. But the problem is when you open yourself to that said market, it no longer becomes capitalism, it becomes something else.

This is why the US which built itself on basically end stage capitalism, where people were worked hard, little pay, etc. quickly adopted a consumer capitalist model, which when you break it down allows for capital to flow freely back to the owners of the cheap capital over time. Inherently, it's some form of socialism or twisted form of who knows what it is.

And it's lead to today's world, where the US isn't king, people don't owe them anything anymore, and consumer capitalism isn't a global thing, the free market doesn't care about you owning a car, or a house, all it cares about is a nations ability to trade this for that, and where it's made cheapest. Where will that lead to?

The theory behind socialism isn't about resources. Shows how much you know about the subject you're so against...

That "theory" in practice has never worked. And it likely will never work.

It actually works very well for the 1% that end up ruling the 99%....

The poster understands nothing about socioeconomics.

Which is why socialism works, for him/her.

And anyone else that embraces the ideology.

They don't think it through to its logical conclusion.

And you can't relate all that to today's politicians how? Hence why I say republics don't work.

It takes already wealthy families and just makes them into positions of power.

As i said, aristocrats.

And the gap between the rich and poor is tightening ever so closer under capitalism.

We still live in capitalism, people come to this country to makes it possible for people to capitalize off of ideas that change the world we live in. Capitalism has and never will be fair, socialism, as it it sold is suppose to be fair, but is in no way fair, maybe at the slightest on the paper it is written on the only time.... MAYBE. last I checked people are risking their lives to be part of this American experiment we call USA...

However we spin, it there is no where else on this planet like the USA, and if people didn’t hate us we would not be special..

I will leave it right here..

I disagree. Looking at this list, I see a mixture of wealth and average upbringing.
en.wikipedia.org...
In some cases, such as Clinton and Obama, we know that the presidents were by no means wealthy until they'd already been in the White House. The majority of Congress also has less than $1M in net worth
www.rollcall.com...
123 of them even run in the red.

Again, your position here is failing.

No. Go to any of those places and report back.

Hold a protest, criticize the government, hold a firearm, etc. Tell me how that treats you.

Hell, visit Venezuela.

You make a good argument. And I like this argument a lot. That capitalism isn't fair, which creates a competitive edge.

But the world we once knew where socialism was this sort of utopia and bastion against the capital hoarders to redistribute wealth and what not is not the same as it is in today's world.
Just think, in the year 2000 people were ringing in the new age from the year 1999, the 1920s were still a 'thing'. We are now in the 2019.

The world is far more advanced, intertwined, and to be honest, far more open to new forms of economics, capitalism once was the best model of all time, but so was feudalism, so was having a king, so was having a tribal leader, and in some cases still is. But the point is, socialism has the leg room to evolve and chance, whereas earning capital has no end game goal, technology doesn't need it, human survival doesn't need it, it's just a greedy model to follow in it's primitive stages, it needs to evolve.

Oh that is not an argument, things come and go.. But reinventing the wheel is not needed. Capitalism, is the best idea in regards to freedom, there is NO utopia, yet man every day whether it be in his mind or the forums and YouTube’s of the world.. We are a self destructive species once individuals understand that we understand our limitations. Most of the time thou most people always dream of utopia. I think capitalism is a good fit until we evolve.. in 2019 the political spectrum globally does not show any form of us evolving if anything we devolving...

Award for the dumbest thing I've read all day.

We govern ourselves. We take care of ourselves in kind. We work for our social fabric. You work harder, you get more. Capitalism.

Please elaborate. You're thinking we're already socialist. We're not. Sorry.

You had nothing to do with saving me from getting stabbed. You had nothing to do with getting assaulted and battered. You didn't cover my hospital bills at all. Not a fraction. You weren't there to defend me from corrupt police officers. So, pray tell, what the hell are you on about?

ETA: Oh, and I work hard to pay my insurance bills and rent. I've never taken government assistance, but I've volunteered many hours.
