A republic. The USA has never been a democracy

It's always been called a Democratic Republic.

Democrats call it a democracy because that is their dream.

Mob rule.

yea own a business.

Are you as a business owner working your people harder with a small wage increase or hiring more people and keeping wages for existing employees the same? Trickle down doesn't work in the long term. Especially when you have a consumer capitalist economy. You need basically slaves to make it work, hence why the top dems are so against Trumps policies.

Capitalism doesn't work on a global free market. Argue that one out, see how it doesn't work.

And how have republics worked out in human history?

Republicans need to take back the House and put more R senators in the Senate. If the television news media and print media such as NYT and WaPo had not supported the Russia Collusion Lie and been complicit in the cover-up, I don't think the Dems would have taken the House. We would be soaring even higher than we are now if this injustice had not been perpetrated on our POTUS. He deserves two additional years for the ones that were stolen from him.

Pay close attention to where the quotation marks end in what you have replied to, pelosi didn’t say the smack down part

I took it in context, so it looks real right to me :-) on a third look, maybe there could have been some additional paragraph breaks in the op to clarify. Generally a paragraph encompasses statements about a single subject. Having orthoganol statements within a single paragraph without well defined boundaries can be a little confusing.

As if they've accepted his first term? This seems to be a Pelosi statement that could have gone unspoken.

Still requires a democracy when you boil it down.
There's plenty of states that can reach a vote of 51% - 49% you know.

So you are actually a communist.

Thanks for clarifying that.

The people that work for me get paid the same as I do and I have a bonus system on net company earnings.

We're doing great, tyvm.

And we got rid of slaves a long time ago.

Took them from the Democrats in a thing called the Civil War, if you again want to read about history on the internet.

America is a place that allows anyone to rise and fall financially, based on their merit.

I'm assuming you are one of those that just don't bother to either work for or learn the skills to rise.

That's not my fault.

It's yours.

Take some responsibly for your life and reach for the brass ring.

Or listen to Democrats you tell you that you have no chance, the odds are stacked against you and if you just vote for us then we will take care of you... from cradle to grave.

As long as you give us control over your life.

What an infantile concept.

www.eupedia.com...
The longest uninterrupted form of government in history was the Rupublic of Venice, so I'd say quite well, thank you.

How's that American economy doing against Vietnam, China, all of Europe, basically the rest of the world?

Oh wait, you voted in a protectionist because it's not going so well, had to bail out banks and auto makers with tax payers money, had a housing crisis, lost your manufacturing and agriculture to foreign nations, most of your debt is owned by Asians, and a billion of that indirectly gave unlimited solar energy to 800 Million Africans.

Yup that consumer economy is working, just keep buying those TVs, smartphones and cars and other crap to feed the rest of planet earth.

And yet, despite your ‘REEEEEEE’, President Trump is going to win a second term, by a landslide.

Better luck in 2024 pal

It's a different climate now days. And if you based your vote off of one policy then you're just as guilty as the 'socialists' you are bashing for voting for higher taxes. Maybe look at the whole picture as a nation instead of thinking about just you for a small tax break.

Sure, but the past presidents for anyone up to their 40’s haven’t had any president that follows through with their promise to the US citizens. It’s called taxation without representation.

So you don't understand the concept.

I'm assuming to you the electoral college isn't democratic at all...

Because it wasn't meant to be.. our founders understood exactly how dangerous a democracy is.

Alexander Hamilton asserted that "We are now forming a Republican form of government. Real liberty is not found in the extremes of democracy, but in moderate governments. If we incline too much to democracy we shall soon shoot into a monarchy, or some other form of a dictatorship."

Hamilton, in the last letter he ever wrote, warned that "our real disease is DEMOCRACY."

John Adams, our second president, wrote: “Remember, democracy never lasts long. It soon wastes, exhausts, and murders itself.”

James Madison, the father of the Constitution wrote in Federalist Paper No. 10 that pure democracies “have ever been spectacles of turbulence and contention; have ever been incompatible with personal security or the rights of property; and have in general been as short in their lives as they have been violent in their deaths.”

We could go back to Plato for another quote since he certainly understood Democracy...

Dictatorship naturally arises out of democracy, and the most aggravated form of tyranny and slavery out of the most extreme liberty.

Plato

Or my personal favorite when dealing with people like yourself...

Democracy is a pathetic belief in the collective wisdom of individual ignorance.

H. L. Mencken

So NO.. we don't have a Democracy, however the left wishes it were so.
