yea own a business.
Are you as a business owner working your people harder with a small wage increase or hiring more people and keeping wages for existing employees the same? Trickle down doesn't work in the long term. Especially when you have a consumer capitalist economy. You need basically slaves to make it work, hence why the top dems are so against Trumps policies.

How's that American economy doing against Vietnam, China, all of Europe, basically the rest of the world?
Oh wait, you voted in a protectionist because it's not going so well, had to bail out banks and auto makers with tax payers money, had a housing crisis, lost your manufacturing and agriculture to foreign nations, most of your debt is owned by Asians, and a billion of that indirectly gave unlimited solar energy to 800 Million Africans.
Yup that consumer economy is working, just keep buying those TVs, smartphones and cars and other crap to feed the rest of planet earth.

It's a different climate now days. And if you based your vote off of one policy then you're just as guilty as the 'socialists' you are bashing for voting for higher taxes. Maybe look at the whole picture as a nation instead of thinking about just you for a small tax break.

Still requires a democracy when you boil it down.
There's plenty of states that can reach a vote of 51% - 49% you know.
Alexander Hamilton asserted that "We are now forming a Republican form of government. Real liberty is not found in the extremes of democracy, but in moderate governments. If we incline too much to democracy we shall soon shoot into a monarchy, or some other form of a dictatorship."
Hamilton, in the last letter he ever wrote, warned that "our real disease is DEMOCRACY."
John Adams, our second president, wrote: “Remember, democracy never lasts long. It soon wastes, exhausts, and murders itself.”
James Madison, the father of the Constitution wrote in Federalist Paper No. 10 that pure democracies “have ever been spectacles of turbulence and contention; have ever been incompatible with personal security or the rights of property; and have in general been as short in their lives as they have been violent in their deaths.”
Dictatorship naturally arises out of democracy, and the most aggravated form of tyranny and slavery out of the most extreme liberty.
Plato
Democracy is a pathetic belief in the collective wisdom of individual ignorance.
H. L. Mencken
