China does most of the World's manufacturing. They have the most money. They have the best engineers and the largest number of engineers. It's just a matter of time before they are the most powerful nation on Earth.

The US has no manufacturing jobs so there's no tax base to pay for all the military spending. Please we have to many resources going into foreign military bases. And we do not have enough engineers and scientists graduating from college because there's no money in honest labor.

It's okay, the US had a good run.

Apparently you have never worked with any Chinese teams. One decision always takes about a week and approval from 30 different people in different functions. And then, if whatever you are doing pisses off the government for any reason at all - it will be shut down.

Super-battleships are properly called Dreadnoughts and essentially stopped production before WW2. The British had loads of them. One off big battleships don't count.

Yeah some of the cool kid circles have bought into the whole "China is better than the US" narrative hook, line and sinker.

The sheer ignorance of everything you proclaimed is beyond my comprehension, yet here we are.

Don't get me wrong... the US has a debt problem as well but China has a very frothy housing market right now on top of all of the manipulation and market intervention.

Nice attempt at creating "factual" anecdotes that have no basis in reality to support your agenda though.

Battleships performed lots of important duties in ww2.

There were only two battleship on battleship encounters with the United States fleet, the rest of their activity was carrier escort and shore bombardment. The first was performed better by cruisers and the latter is a bit of an mundane task for an expensive piece of hardware.

Several even served in Korea and Vietnam.

Four in Korea and one in Vietnam.

One served in the gulf war.
So not totally obsolete.

Actually two and they fired cruise missiles which was an expensive upgrade that other ships could have done.

Dreadnaughts were simply the generic name given to the "modern" battleships post HMS Dreadnaught.

I am talking about the 15" , 16" , and 18" battleships displacing ~50,000+ tons. Twice the displacement of the original Dreadnaught. They remained in vogue well after the war's beginning.

The US, for example, laid down six Iowa-class, for example. All of them laid down after June 1940. One not until '58 (never completed)!

Actually, dreadnoughts are World War I era vessels that shared two common traits; all main caliber guns were the same size and they had steam turbine propulsion. The post-World War I battleships were referred to as 'super dreadnoughts'.

Have you been to a costco? the smartest ones that made there corrupt millions and escaped are as bright as the first lightbulb. Japan messed up China and then we kicked there butt just after we finished the nazis and the facists, went right into it with the Russians. They steal Stealth spend billions and its the dead end of road we paved for them with false intel. There Presidentator is a human winnie the pooh and they just got there ass handed by 20,000 protesters in Hong Kong a place they own.

9/10th of the country or greater is cattle, that's how communism functions there. I'd be more worried if South Korea unifies.

What kind of super power builds a crappy dam that could fail at any time and wipe out 80 million people in there most powerful cities? - nerds forced into math are nothing. Billy the toothless cajun who plays with home made napalm could take on a carrier worth.

Who's the "we". To be historically accurate, the British and Commonwealth fought the Japanese across SE Asia from the start, including defeating army groups, not just island hopping - difficult as that was. Also, it's a surprise to most Americans, but the British Pacific Fleet was also at places like Okinawa.

Back to topic. Aircraft carriers are more capable platforms at projecting flexible power due to their (er) aircraft. It would be interesting to understand the sustained sortie rate of Chinese carriers as this would determine their compatibility over (say) US or even UK equivalents. Additionally, have China got any reliable naval bases overseas, apart from mainland China and Djibouti in East Africa.
