I too thought on this. Then I had a flashback to my University days.

I had friends in university that were from other countries and I remember how they used to talk about why they came to America. They came because of the lies and myths they had been told all their life. They actually believed that the streets were paved with gold.

The lie is still out there, and I hate to say it but, our pushing the "American way" across the globe is keeping the dream alive.

The only problem is by the time they realize that it is only a dream, they wake up finding themselves well entrenched in a nightmare.

I am personally what can be described a liberal, green and left, but I distance myself very far from your Democrats. I like Trump, not as human being, but as president. If I switch to my American glasses, considering what situation America is in, he does have the right ideas and you're lucky you have him.
In his immigration politics he is a bit ahead of his time, but it's one of those things where when it's happening it's too late to react. And he is the president of the United States of America and not Guatemala, or Venezuela, or whatever. America first.
Your liberals think it's in manageable, and I want to think they really want to help. But these people are definitely peppered with individuals who grew up with America as bad capitalistic enemy.
They allow their bleeding hearts and ideology get in the way of perceiving reality. That's what socialist means, you are empathically involved in the pits, stumbles and downfalls of strangers.
I really do wish you would have gotten this wall, because if Venezuela ignites South and Middle America, (because you get openly involved, which is just a bad idea, ) there will be floods of people. You have your own serious issues, you want to take care of your own homeless situation and poverty and the Veterans and so on, they compete over the same resources your refugees would. They have it bad enough, they are your business card. A chain is as strong as its weakest link.
Somebody should tell that to them.
Trump is right. Do what he says. And get over yourself.

Well written and I agree with exception to the above. I voted for him and will again. I want the wall. I don't want sanctuary cities or states. I want the rule of law followed along with ongoing immigration. My ancestors emigrated in the late 1880's. I specifically want The Constitution of The United States followed.

Should not be used to warehouse these ILLEGAL immigrants. A detaining center like Joe Arpaio made in the desert should suffice.

Back when I was in University my classmates were not illegals, and their tuition was not paid for by the citizens of the US.

They indeed were well dressed, much better than me, as I was a poor country girl. Forty years later I am a lot older but still a country girl.

The huge desire for so many outside of America wanting to come here is because they too have believed the lie that America is the closest place to heaven you can go without dying.

Many of the lies these illegal believe are the same, but some are new. Back then very few believed that you could get anything "free".

Sorry that was a bit hard for me to understand what you were saying. Is that so? I was under the impression the American Dream says clearly, if you work hard and get lucky. I couldn't imagine someone is so dumb to see America as socilaist. It clearly says capitalist.

That's not where most come from. Mexico has enough issues. Be a good neighbour.

It's mostly their point of entry, were all aware that there are many points that can be used, but 85-95% come from Central America, South America and mexico.

Did anybody ever find a FEMA camp. I checked all of the supposed ones in Michigan and came up empty handed.
