thanks for that recap. I've not had the time to keep up, plus, well, you know..........its Venezuela.

From a couple of programs I've watched on the Tele, one of the big problems with Venezuela, one it shares in common with most all of South America, is that the population is remarkably mentally "challenged" and by that I mean they score very high on the Bat Crap Crazy scale.

I dunno, maybe its the water.........maybe its the drugs, maybe its just because they're on the upside down portion of the globe.

Hey, why would anyone want to be close with the USA, we're only the top consumer market in the world? I mean, who doesn't want to have a cold relationship with the #1 military power?

Believe it or not not all people in Venezuela are big fans of the US. That doesn't mean China or Russia is more popular or better, just saying it will create problems.
Best case scenario a "real" Venezuelan free from suspicious ties would be the opposition.
But since it is what it is at least the revolution should come from the people and not military. Sure the military should help the people but now it is a question of supporting a dictator or a want to be dictator with support by a foreign power.

While I agree, whether they do or do not is not my business, or anyone else's except theirs. They clearly are making a statement.

Why do you guys have to keep making everything about the US? I thought it's about the people of Venezuela and not if the US can widen their sphere of influence? Which is it?

It is my understanding that Juan Guido was nominated by the Venezuelan congress to oversee a peaceful transition of power per the Venezuelan Constitution.

Maduro refused to accept the findings of their congress and has ignored their constitution.

The fact that Maduro is a dictator doesn't mean that Guaido is a saint. According to the Venezuelan constitution the Venezuelan National Assembly can nominate an interim president for a month, to prepare a presidential election, and there's where I see a problem, as the National Assembly and Guaido have been acting as if he was nominated president for an unnamed period of time.

... not sure where you went wrong. YOU made it about the US. My post was about the average soldier probably won't want to kill civilians, then I highlighted how crazy your post was trying to make this about the US.

They have 1 month .. when were they given a month by Maduro? I agree, 1 month, with the clock starting as soon as Maduro lets it.

Seems like 25 of the US controlled military traitors that supported Guaido fled to the brazilian embassy, Leopoldo Lopez to the chilean.

The US can´t even regime change anymore.

Well at least we are part of the Americas, seems putting faith in a country on the other side of the planet might not go over to well.

I've been driving most of the day, but I just read through some of the headlines about this and see Bolton is doing a lot of the talking for the US admin....

I don't like that at all, bad foreshadowing.

As Maduro isn't considered as the president by the National Assembly they do not need any action from him, Guaido should have started preparing things for an election immediately, instead of acting as someone that is on a political campaign to gather votes. He should have acted on behalf of the Venezuelan people, not as if he has won the election.

The UK is a permanent UN security council member. I expect them to be the bastion of democracy and human rights while they bring this issue up to the UN.

In no time, the global community will act and make sure that those who have been wrong get righted.

I bet Disney will pick up that fairy tale.

The UK will do exactly what the US tells them to

Troops are the third phase when the US wants to install a puppet dictator, the first two involve the CIA and businessmen, learn how the system works before speaking, put away your stick and start picking up books instead

says you

but by all means keep making crap up.....it doesn't make you look like the crazy person you are or anything.....

interesting you refuse to discuss the vote of the people or the assembly....
typical liberal anti american bs

What exactly am I making up? Have you studied history in detail, at all?

Imagine a guy that has "capitalism is Organized Crime" on hit avatar area being pro Chavez type of person. Seems amazing to me that there are actual adults that actually BELIEVE in socialism.

Disgusting.

If you need to tell yourself that I'm advocating socialsm, then you do that

Doubly disgusting

What are you advocating then? Do you have some magical third way? Bunch of if only's and what if's that the natural order of things would never allow and thus would never work? When will you folk learn what's really real and what isn't?

I am beginning to see that even these problems we have in the USA will never be "fixed" with communication and I am perfectly fine with that. I am prepared and getting prepared. Never thought I would have to, but you un closeted communist people are going for your hail Mary and I intend to boo from the stadium seats because I dearly and passionately want your team to lose. And not only to lose but to be completely humiliated so society at large never has to deal with the nonsense you and people like you propagate and push on the masses.

Your ideas only make people insane and they help no one.

I am not a communist either, if choose the choice of a defeatist then please do not say anything, uhm Fools

Since he has the military backing him and won't allow it they do. Maduro created his own government.

Another thing worth remembering is that Guaido wasn't even a candidate in the last election.

If we assume the election was rigged, then technically Henri Falcon should be President.

So why is the Western world acknowledging Guaido's military coup as legitimate/a good thing?
