When it was announced that a "bombshell" report against former FBI Director James Comey is coming in early May, complete with criminal referrals, it occurred to me that DOJ prosecutors might be killing 2 birds with one stone, due to what's been learned since Comey's July 2016 press conference.

A newly discovered document shows that then-FBI Director Comey authored a draft statement accusing Clinton of mishandling classified documents and being “grossly negligent.”

It was written a full two months before Clinton was ever interviewed by the FBI.

However, sometime before Comey's press briefing, the words “gross negligence” were edited out with red lines. The words “extremely careless” were substituted.

This appears to show that Comey knew Clinton violated the law, but subsequently resolved to conjure a way to exonerate her by altering the language.

He employed it as an excuse to protect Clinton from prosecution, in a case that should have rendered no fewer than 110 criminal charges against her.

Could we soon be seeing a criminal referral of James Comey, stating that by changing the legal wording, he "Obstructed Justice" in order to exonerate a criminal?

Could we at the same time see a criminal referral of Hillary Clinton, followed quickly by her indictment?

Since Comey already laid out all the crimes associated with Hillary's E-mail/Server/National Security violations, the wording can changed back to the original "gross negligence". Hillary can then be indicted/prosecuted, with NO ADDITIONAL investigative legwork required.

For some reason, I doubt justice will prevail.

In the off chance it does, I have a bottle of champagne waiting. It’s collecting dust, though I hear it gets better with age.

Lisa Page is the one that came up with the idea to change the "wording"

I've said it before, I all say it again: Rolling heads and pools of blood coming from criminal proceedings would go a long way to restoring my confidence in our government.

At present, I have none.

Sort of old news, actually. January 2018. Back when Republicans had the House. The good old days. Devin and stuff.

While I think Hillary, and Comey are guilty of many crimes, this is thin, and will amount to nothing.

Who told Comey to change the wording from "a criminal investigation" to "a matter"?

Seems he was getting advice from all sides, and following it.

Criminal Investigations (by the DOJ) would get the media's attention too. It would be a SHOCKER to those who only get their news from CNN, ABC, NBC, CBS, NYTimes, WaPo, etc..

That is incorrect Mr. gobsmacked. That's how I know what liberal media does not report. I listen/watch/read them daily.

That's old news. Special Counsels didn't turn out to be as dangerous as President Trump thought they were.

Not sure monitoring is the right word. That implies oversight.
