What(who's) morality is objective? Please explain with details.

If all life is sacred, then abortion is off the table. If abortion is ok, then you can't claim the moral high ground as far as the sanctity of life. This topic is far more complicated but let's start off simple.

Dichotomies do simplify things.
But too much, perhaps.

Would you agree then that morality is subjective then?

I would say more pragmatic than subjective. I think morality is a tool which enables human individuals to coexist with other human individuals. We are, after all, societal creatures. Living in a society requires rules.

So, unless society is a static thing, morals are not.

Killing other humans is subjectively wrong in my eyes but perfectly acceptable in both Christianity and Islam. Are you really trying to argue morality isn't subjective?

Morality is pragmatic.

Fair enough. What does that have to do with this UN treaty? It wasn't ratified by the US senate so basically it's just
a list of ideals.

What does that have to do with this UN treaty?

Near as I can tell, not a damn thing.

But the NRA loved what Trump said. For some reason.

I guess.

So Trump taking the presidential signature off the nonbinding treaty isn't going to change anything then right?

From a pragmatic standpoint, no.

On the other hand, the folks at the rally loved it.

Seems they really had no idea.

So people(Americans) have no idea what they are actually voting for? Color me surprised. As I've said before, people don't really pay attention to the issues. They mostly vote for party above all else. Can we agree on that?

Nope.

Trump is neither a Republican or a conservative. He's a populist opportunist.

Isn't the statement that "all life is sacred" a collection of absolutes?

Because if those collected concepts are relative, perhaps the statement should more accurately be, "some things that most would agree operate as living things operate, could be considered sacred by some people".

Also, just because someone holds a particular view, does not necessarily mean that they are right. Some dictate could be absolute and they can still choose to disagree. It does not make the absolute any less definitive.

He was a Democrat Presidential candidate before swapping. Go figure.

My guess is that it doesn't really matter to him which party he represents.

the number one made weapon found world wide is the AK47.

over 200 million made. this was what the UN arms trade treaty was aimed at because its very hard to track from manufacture to the field.
for every AK47 made there are over 1000 with the same serial number.

that means for every AK 47 sold surplus in the US there are 999 out there in the world with the same serial number.

there are other marks on many that cuts down the serial number like plant number or plant marking and date made.

but when mexico sent JUST serial numbers of guns found in mexico to the US ATF some serial number matched guns imported to the US.
this is why obama blamed the US for some AKs taken from the mexican drug cartels as coming from the US.
