Unlike me, she's been coached and trained to ensure maximum brainwashing of the cultists hearing her words.

Does it really matter that she has Asperger?

Her message is clear: Governments of the world, clean up your act or else.

Of course she doesn't hold a science degree, but that's also the case for quite a few adults as well wouldn't you say? She's conveying what many are thinking, both young and old. The fact that she dares, and is allowed, is telling. Her simple, straight forward message holds more weight than if your everyday, lying politician had conjured up some vague bull crap.

Asperger's manifests much differently in girls than it does in boys, just so you know.

In fact, many of the girl transgenders may actually female aspys because they tend to act a lot more like little boys, so they get confused especially with the social difficulty. However, ironically, they tend to make a study of social adeptness, so they can "pass" if they have to. It's just very awkward for them on the inside which is again another reason why they're susceptible to teh trans activists.

So she's well-trained and child? Oh yes, since the children are the future we dare not speak against her like St. David of Hogg from Parkland who can rant, rave, and cuss all he likes, but no one dare speak against him.

So when you say politicians just what are they suppose to do? Much of what we desire to do to clean up our act is based on technology and as the car replaced the horse that became a ecological nightmare so will the car be replaced, but if technology isn't there yet then that replacement will be a rather painful move.

Painful as in make gas cost more than what people can afford, have families move into 300 sq ft apartments, dictate food consumption on the population...so on and so on...Are we ready for that?

This all gets rather ugly when one starts to talk about heavy carbon tax on everyone, limit everyone's carbon foot prints, cull the herd etc.

I have always found it a bit awkward that folks put semi-clever kids in such spotlights. It seems like the truly brilliant, the savants, etc. tend to be overlooked because they are just too far over most people's heads.

Hell, even I had to fight tooth and nail throughout my school years to convince teachers I was doing my own work. I had multiple instances of teachers giving me a failing grade because they insisted my parents did it, and it didn't seem to matter one bit that my parents would confirm it was my own work.

Eventually, I started doing just enough to get A's, and was then praised for "finally being honest" (irony!). I honestly can't imagine what that process might be like for kids with issues like autism, or severe social issues in general.

In pretty much every case like the one in the OP, it seems the kid is just smart enough to seem profound to most people and that (or because) they are heavily directed by an adult in their life. In other words, its frequently a situation where the parent felt they were not being heard, so they use their kid(s).

Its a damn effective way to go about things, which is probably why it happens so often. In topics like this one, it almost entirely eliminates opposition as well. Its not like we see these children entering actual mediums for debate or discussion, it tends to be preaching and proselytizing with the absolute certainty that only childhood can truly deliver.

Perhaps someone can correct me, but the only "novelty" here seems to be her age, and perhaps the aspergers.. But she is saying the same thing as anyone else pushing the same narrative. Probably exactly the same thing her parents say about the topic, coincidentally.

Her age and having aspergers is her Mojo...speaking English well with a accent doesn't hurt either. Her narrative is as you say nothing new...

She say that climate is very complex but the answer is simple enough for even a 5 year old to understand and that answer is "stop the emissions" and the audience all clap and talk like that is unheard of wisdom.

Now no one wants to actually suggest how do we stop the emissions without serious impact to the population, but that is never really the point...The point is Government/Politicians are evil because they will not stop the emissions no matter the cost, and that cost is not just money.

Shortly after seeing her talking about climate change and holding fort with

the politicians, I saw on the news Kim Jong un being greeted by Putin, he

arrived in an armoured train (full train to himself and his body guards) and got

into a very large armoured car which had been flown in just for him. Can't imagine

what the carbon foot print for that would have been?

Perhaps she would do better lecturing in Russia and N.Korea?

This all gets rather ugly when one starts to talk about heavy carbon tax on everyone, limit everyone's carbon foot prints, cull the herd etc.

The rich will be the only ones who will be able to afford carbon taxes,

Society as always been a them and us!!

And while everyone is praising a 16 year old with honed scripts, does

anyone wonder why no one can be President of the USA before the age

of 35 years ....... knowledge and maturity perhaps?

They can start by being a bit more brave and up front perhaps? Too many times i see them dancing around an issue not daring to step on lobbyist toes, only caring for their own career. Don't get me wrong, many want to make a difference but they don't seem to get through.

Now, I agree with not rushing ahead with new solutions before they're even invented, or proven to be worthy. Are electric cars really that clean as opposed to the traditional gasoline hogs? Apparently not if you take into account the whole process of building one. It just seems to me that oil will still rule for a long time out of pure greed and power, not only out of necessity.

One thing that can be done is drastically reduce the use of plastics in industries in general. I saw a hardware store recently that had gone back to the old ways, ditching small bags for EVERYTHING and only had their products in loose weight. That's an example of a good strategy politicians should encourage more. Another thing that could be done is give money if you turn in plastic, like a deposit-refund system, but for a range of plastic articles.

Career politicians is a curse to us all, but that is who people vote for even when they suck for decades. The other side of all this is NO ONE wants to pay the piper when it comes down to what we are actually talking about changing.

Its all about batteries in the end. Once electric cars cost 25k, can go 400 miles on a charge and take 20 minutes to recharge and go 0 to 60 in 3 seconds the gas car will go the way of the horse. I give it 25 years or less for this to happen. When the car was invented it took 25 years to replace the horse.

Plastics are bad we all agree but we can't do much about it as we look at the big offenders. Not a hell of a lot the politicians in most countries can do...

Greta has some fire in her belly, nobody led her to take the initial step in striking for environmental issues. It is a sad reflection of the world and not of Greta that politicians and corporate interests have attempted to purloin her message and her personality for their own agenda's. She has stated she is independent and will remain so. Those in power and others that seek to either discredit or exploit her do so from their own dark hearts and not from anything intrinsic to her.

Politicians rarely speak up in defence of the environment and this is no reflection on Greta or any of the Earth loving youth quake that is currently shaking the status quo of selfish greed and lifestyle protectionism. There are people of older generations whose voices have been drowned out and who have in the past, been ridiculed and criminalised. Some now advise the younger activists to allow them, the elders to be the ones on the front line and not risk tarnishing the reputations of people just starting out in life. Extinction Rebellion are doing sterling work raising awareness that the corpocratic state can no longer expect people to behave as silent and brain dead morons, content in their privileged lifestyles that all is well with the world.

It is interesting there are few scientists spamming media items about Greta or challenging her premise the human race has a responsibility to the planet. When this does happen, I will be surprised if any of their research was not funded by corporate interests that have no concern for anything other than profit and the self entitlement of their executives.

I "reckon" that the data is manipulated (because we know it is manipulated) and I "reckon" that every generation sees some manner of snake oil salesmen, many claiming the support of "science", that tries to separate the people from their earnings based on fear. In 50 years, this generation will be look back upon as a bunch of unenlightened imbeciles who bought a "science" piss and moan about as easily as their ancestors bought the flat Earth theory, the value of lobotomies, and bloodletting as a cure-all. The climate of Earth has ALWAYS changed and it will continue to do so, mankind has no impact on it and this entire cult is simply about convincing more people to freely give up their prosperity and power while shouting down any who dare question it.

(That's another can of worms, by the way... when else in the history of the scientific method has questioning a theory been greeted with such vitriol and refusal to entertain the challenge? Part of the scientific method, arguably the most important part of it, embraces all challengers... that's how scietific minds who believe in their theories and know they're not bulls#_t greet challengers. That's not happening now, is it? No, we're seeing the opposite... any who dare challenge it are greeted with hatred and anger to the point where many of the cultists even openly call for the criminalization of "deniers." What an amazingly strong, definsible theory that needs to be sheltered and defended so vigorously that the mere existence of a differing theory or a challenge must be met with full assault and shouting down rather than scientific testing. It's almost like the cult leaders *know* they're full of excrement and will do anything in their power to ensure their followers don't see their faith tested, tenuous as it is.)

You seem to think that because she’s autistic, she doesn’t get to have a voice. That’s ridiculous. Autistic people can be much smarter than the average person and they aren’t all the same. I know of plenty of autistic people who care about others, and they can learn social skills. What kind of social skills and empathy are you expressing by disregarding her because of her diagnosis?

Other than that, I haven’t heard of her. I just wanted to comment on how screwed up it was that you were bashing her because of her diagnosis.
