Many of us have known since early 2017 that the United Kingdom spied on the Trump campaign, at the behest of President Obama.

For the uninitiated, here's a chronologically organized document that explains the scandal.

cdn.website-editor.net...

We're coming close to a point in time where it will be OFFICIALLY exposed, and not just something spread across social media by arm-chair investigators.

Interesting and very specific denial by GCHQ that they were not "wire tapping" Trump. Of course they weren't - wire tapping is a bit outmoded these days.

Monitoring known Russian operators - who happen to be in contact with Trump's people - is that spying on Trump?

Whatever, like the US spies on everyone else and everyone else spies on everyone else anyway....Shock! Horror! etc.

PMSL!
I'm amazed at the outrage, of course we spied on Trump. The US spies on us, just check out the Snowden files, that was at least confirmed, but you didn't hear Britain whining like a little bitch about it.
Unlucky America, Britain plays the same games you do, and there is nothing you can do about it, 'allies' have always spied on each other, just geo politics is all.
Seems to me that you just don't like it when we play your nation at the same game 😂

Without reading your missing post, the answer to your question would probably be yes. All allies spy on each other, even with five eyes cooperation, not really news lol
Edit>> After reading your post now, my answer is the same. The US spies on the UK and vice versa.

Yeah sorry, hit enter by accident.

It is news again because Trump just criticized the UK for spying on him and his campaign. The GCHQ replied:

“The allegations that GCHQ was asked to conduct ‘wire tapping’ against the then President Elect are nonsense. They are utterly ridiculous and should be ignored.”

These allegations should not be ignored.

So is it generally spying (collecting information/intelligence) that you refer to, or wire tapping specifically? They could have done one but not the other, but realistically, as others have said, it's not as though it doesn't happen - do you not think Trump gets intelligence on both enemies and allies?

Trump was a private citizen when it happened, and this information, along with former MI6 Christopher Steele’s dodgy dossier, led to one of the biggest failed investigations in modern history. I haven’t seen Trump doing that yet.

What? The US does not spy on it's private citizens? Pull the other one - it's got bells on.

Check out the Snowden report, the US was spying on private UK citizens. You are naive if you didn't think it cut both ways.
I expect the UK to spy on any foreign nation if it is in our interests, and the US can wail all it wants but nothing will come of this, just the rest of the world chuckling that Trump is whining about something which has always gone on, and he can't stop lol

I never said that. Thus US clearly spies on its own citizens, and the UK spied on the Trump campaign.

Haha so what about whatabism? 😂😂😂
Face it you are butt hurt that the UK has the means and will to spy on your nation. I expect our intelligence agencies to do that, it is what they are paid to do.
Trump can bitch about it like a lil girl, but it won't stop it, same as your spies will continue operating in the UK.
You must be really naive about geo politics, personally I think it is hilarious, little Britain manages to spy on the worlds most militarily powerful nation lmfao! What ya gonna do about it???
...bitch and wail lol

It arguably led to one of the biggest failed political investigations in US history.

It was poor spying. It was bad intel. That’s not something to be proud of.

No, I’m not. You guys seem more interested in defending your spy agencies then innocent people.

That's because we have all been living in a socialist Police state with no freedoms for too long, obviously.
