Just curious.

How would a potential political candidate pander to the in-prison vote?

Would drug cartels become super-PAC's?

Would a politician claim to make rape and murder legal just to get votes?

Every single person on this site knows with 100% certainty that any democrat candidate would absolutely promise to make rape and murder legal, just to get votes.

I’m pretty sure that’s undisputed

πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Yep. sure is "undisputed" lmfao. You just proved it right here in front of us all. πŸ˜πŸ˜‚πŸ˜. Oh wise one, ruler of knowledge. How do.You. Do it? :p. 1 in 5 people are incarcerated for a non violent drug offense. So even if your ridiculous statement even had an ounce of truth in it, i'm sure most people in prison or jail wouldn't vote to legalize murder and rape.
I don't think we should let people who are currently serving time vote either, as thats part of being in jail. Missing out on important crap like that and having your freedom rescricted is part of the punishment. But how you posted that with pure confidence that it wasn't just as, if not even more stupid than what bernie said is beyond me. I'll say this, i'm jealous of thst self esteem ya got going on.......

Sanders and his voters also enjoyed the Boston bomber on the front page of rolling stone magazine.

Imagine they did that with the new Zealand shooter.

The socialist liberal left love radical Muslim terrorist.

They are extremely soft on crime.

Any normal person would be disgusted by such a comment...those terrorist killed a little boy

If any of these people were just moderate and used their common sense they could easily defeat Trump, but it won't happen.

Possibly in 2016... now? No way. I have talked to so many people who were totally anti-Trump in 2016 who now say that they can't believe he actually meant what he was saying and is working towards keeping all of his campaign promises.

Most of these people I've talked to don't like him personally, but are absolutely planning on voting for him in 2020, regardless of which dem-socialist wins the primary.

So, to clarify. Do you think Bernie wants to give FORMER felons who have served their time and are now productive, law abiding members of society the right to vote

Yes

OR is he contemplating giving current felons serving time in federal prison the right to vote?

Yes

A Crime , a Price MUST BE Paid . WTF has Voting Have to Do with That ?

Loss of voting privilege is part of the price.

Honestly, i can't even understand this is up to debate.

Prisoners are not people? It just does not fit in my head, where this logic comes from.

That is because you are confused...

America is not and was never intended to be a dumbocracy.

America is a Constitutional Republic. Yes, it incorporates some democratic priniciples, but you might want to read up on what our Founders thought about dumbocracies.

voting is a privilege, which yoy gain by being a law abiding citizen and cobtributing good to a society.

Voting is a RIGHT guaranteed by constitutional amendments 14, 15, 24, 26, with exceptions noted in the amendments themselves. Note the wording in those amendments..."RIGHT to vote".

That said, I have no issue with a felon who has served their time and paid their debt to society having their voting rights reinstated, but while they are incarcerated? NO.

So isn't the right to bare arms. I don't see him arguing to give felons in prison guns. I do not think anyone should automatically have their rights restored, I think they need to show they are now a productive member of society.

Not really a surprise here.

Bernie's home state allows convicted felons - no matter the charge - to vote from prison via absentee ballot.

(Vermont and Maine do this).

Yes, let the prisoners vote. It is called democracy.

Good or bad person, one vote.

America is not a Democracy, it's a Constitutional Republic with an electoral college. It was not nor should it ever be one person one vote majority rule. That fails every time, everywhere.

Unless you are among the one percent or so, it might be best to step back and really see what is going on. The rich are utterly afraid of Bernie Sanders. Why? Because he walks the talk. He has maintained a consistent record during his 4 decades of activism and political work, one that champions the needs of the people rather than the wants of the rich. Why would anyone consider making America a better place for all to be a bad thing? Bernie gave millions hope in 2016 with his message, that Americans do not have to settle for bones. The only thing that stands in the way of a better America is ourselves. How absurd is that? In this case, Bernie was gamed my mainstream media as he usually is. They slid Bernie the question of felons voting in order to disparage him. If you watch the entire interview, you will see that Bernie supports that because all citizens have a right to vote and that should not be taken away, that serving punishment for your crime is enough. Taking away voting rights for certain behaviors etc. is but a slippery slope that will be abused by those in power to further their interests. You know, like now. For example, did you know that Nixon conceived of the War on Drugs as a way to imprison and strip rights from people of color, i.e. blacks. That hippies got caught up in that was just fine too, as they tended to protest and be free thinkers. Can't have that in a free society, can we? Bottom line. How can you know what person is most likely to spur change in America? It's easy. Look for pushback. The greater the pushback from mainstream media etc., the more afraid the rich are of being tossed off the gravy train. Or do you like subsidizing their absurd wealth?

So really it should be a state issue, why would somebody on death row get to vote, pretty pointless.

It's going to be a race to the furthest left in 2020, centrists democrats have no where to go now.

FYI: Bernie Sanders tried to use Hillary's "I'm like you!" strategy at a Women of Color town hall tonight, and got heckled badly.

It's good to see minority women waking up to the truth regarding Democrat politicians.

I have said it several times. Democrats/Liberals love criminals because they, the ones in power, are criminals. Every last one of them. There is no logical reason why anyone would want the "Boston bomber" having his right to vote restored, unless you are a criminal yourself and know that only using dirty tactics can you win.

Yeah. I know there is a difference. Maybe i should read something about the subject from a trusted source. But if prisoners can't vote who then who's next? The poor can't vote? The left-handed?

Maybe i will educate myself a bit before participating in this debate any further.

And what if 30% of the country feel that way.

Well, in the early days of the Republic, only male land owners could vote.

Personally, I think one amendment that needs to be passed asap is to disallow anyone who has been the recipient of any welfare benefits of any kind in the given election year the privilege of voting in any elections that year.

Good idea...

Also, to those who falsely claim that voting is a Right - it isn't.

Rights come from God (your Creator). Privileges come from government.
