Nope.

And quite frankly I think the greater possibility is that they didn't do it. They may have, but even a country like Yemen could get it's hands on magnetic mines. That said, Iran opened itself up as a scapegoat when they started making threats about closing the Strait.

Doesn't matter though, Iran now has an excuse to start gumming up the strait out of making sure it's secure while the US hasn't hesitated on pointing the finger at Iran.

US didn't attack Iran, precisely because they showed they can shoot down high flying planes / drones.
Reality is the opposite of media claims that attacks will come due to Iran shooting down the drone !

Besides, the game is a sanctions' game and is not in the hands of Iran and the US. Rather is in the hands of feckless EU,
and that's enough of a reason to support Iran's increased enrichment activities, to replace EU/French medical nuclear Isotopes' with internally created ones. These medical Isotopes are the real reason behind the JCPOA. Nothing to do with nuclear weapons.

Iranian boats were alleged to have "harassed" a British tanker today.

Iran tries to 'impede' passage of British tanker through Strait of Hormuz

The Royal Navy has driven off three Iranian vessels which tried to stop a commercial vessel from travelling through the Strait of Hormuz.

The altercation came a day after Iran spoke out against Britain over the interception in Gibraltar of a supertanker believed to be breaching EU sanctions by carrying a shipment of crude oil to Syria.

Some, including Iran itself, are claiming this is merely propaganda or whatever.

In any case, I highly doubt Iran would do anything overtpy stupid. If anything did happen, then it was most likely posturing in retaliation for the seizure of the tanker "allegedly" headed for Syria...

All of this "war" talk has clearly ended being a great big anticlimax, from the alleged torpedo strike to the downing of the US drone. A big fat anticlimax...

Well, except for the really minor fact that US aircraft and ships could launch weapons far outside the range of Iranian S200s. There's no reason to get anywhere near the range of Iranian defenses, so the fact that they can shoot down a high altitude, slow flying target is utterly irrelevant. Not to mention that the F-35s could have flown over those same defenses without being seen, to hit whatever targets they wanted to with impunity.

Israel has been doing this for the past few months - probably to map out attack and egress routes in case have to
take down Iran

Harassing UK (Actually Isle of Man) tankers and shipping is less risky from Iranian point of view as UK has far fewer
assets in area to defend them , Also hoping to get Eu to ignore sanctions and resume oil sales

Trump has made it clear only willing to take so much from Iran before he blows them back to Jurassic age

Actually it was sometime last year they did it. An Iranian air defense commander was fired over it, once it got out.

Some ask, "What has Iran got to lose?". The princes are all sanctioned effectively stripping generational wealth transfer, the people are ready for a cry of havoc in a bid for another form of Independence, and nearby Russian allies are well entreched nearby and can provide equipment via well defended Syrian supply lines.

Also working for the Ayatollahs, in a now or never scenario, is the fact that the US President is roundly criticized by the media bureau within his domestic territory. And the media bureau's propaganda machine is working enough for the ever magical 33% of the population. Regardless of his countermeasure, certain members of the people's representatives will scorn and even call in to question the very legitamcy of the Presidential office, and the media bureau will carry that torch right along.

The very future of the Ayatollah system is in it's death throngs. The next generation has been completely ripped of wealth, and the current generation has no other option than to fight or relinquish power.

Either way, the office of the Presidency will be besmirched. If the President responds ten fold in respose to Ayatollah aggression, he's done too much, if he responds not harsh enough, the Ayatollahs won't get the right message.

The question isn't, "What does Iran have to lose?". The question really is "What doesn't Khamenei have to lose?". He either goes down fighting, or he lets a new world order takeover with the reign of the Ayatollahs ending on his watch and with out a fight.

Listen, sug', don't forget to say your prayers.

Whilst I do believe that a conflict with the Islamic Republic of Iran is highly, highly unlikely this year or next, if it actually were to occur, I am not sure the world (or indeed, the United States) will ever be the same again. This could be a whole different ballgame. Rather interestingly, the United States and her allies are being extra cautious and extra slow recently - perhaps it's the elderly gentleman snoozing in the Oval Office, who knows...

India has ended Iranian oil imports: envoy

India has ended all imports of oil from Iran, its ambassador in Washington said Wednesday, becoming the latest country to grudgingly comply with threatened US sanctions.

India had already sharply decreased its imports from Iran and bought one million tonnes of crude in April, the last month before Washington stepped up its pressure campaign against Tehran and ended all exemptions to sanctions, Ambassador Harsh Vardhan Shringla said.
