It's OK, we don't need some pundits to argue the case.
Trump said that the investigation was the end of his presidency and that he was f***ked.
Why might that be?

Lots of people fell for that one.

Schiff was one of the worst in claiming with certainty that trump or people close to him conspired with Russians in an illegal way.
In addition, Schiff was contacted personally by two people claiming to be Russians that had dirt on Trump, and was more than happy to receive that dirt including sending his staffers to retrive the dirt, and only didn't succeed because they were comedians trolling him. Thus he personally (by his own definition of don jr colluding) colluded with Russians.

Exactly right.
If he did know it would leak out, why would he incriminate himself? What was his motive in making himself look guilty and weak?

Trump has read the art of war. Feign weakness when you are strong. It’s controlling the opposition. He’s making sure the dems are barking up the wrong tree. The left refuses to give trump any intellectual credit, and it is to their detriment. Until they start giving him the respect he deserves he will continue to play them like fools

Ah, I get it now, you are so unable to deal with the self destruction of your hoped for hero that you have entered a dissociative mental state.
Sometimes, when paradigms shift, it is wisest to embrace the truth and the change. Reforming your ideas, arising wiser and with your eyes opened.

accused witches were dragged to the nearest body of water, stripped to their undergarments, bound and then tossed in to to see if they would sink or float. Since witches were believed to have spurned the sacrament of baptism, it was thought that the water would reject their body and prevent them from submerging. According to this logic, an innocent person would sink like a stone, but a witch would simply bob on the surface. The victim typically had a rope tied around their waist so they could be pulled from the water if they sank, but it wasn’t unusual for accidental drowning deaths to occur.
