I predict this a model of how governments across the world will root out Christians and those who they identify as enemies of the state in the years to come. Watch closely and prepare accordingly. Be careful who knows what about you and your family as there may one day be a reward for telling government officials about your activities or possibly physical ownership of something deemed contraband in the near future.

www.technocracy.news...

The Chinese government is increasing its crackdown on Christians by actually rewarding citizens that report Christians to the government.

Guangzhou has become the first city to offer up to $1,500 USD to any Chinese citizen that reports “illegal religious activities,” like underground churches or Bible studies, which was recently announced by their ethnic and religious affairs department.

According to the South China Morning Post, the city’s crackdown has come down hardest on unregistered Protestant churches.

Not only can informants earn between 5,000 and 10,000 Chinese yuan for reporting a religious leader who is not Chinese, but they can also receive 3,000 to 5,000 yuan for reporting a foreign religious group, and 100 to 3,000 yuan for reporting local religious gatherings.

Ying Fuk-Tsang, who is the director of the Divinity School of Chung Chi College at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, said the crackdown is more common than people think and allows for strict social control.

Based on the actions of a Communist state which has long seen religion as a threat ?
I don't think so.

What makes you think Christianity is under threat in the West ?

good. religion is a thorn we're afraid to get rid because people think a mysterious man (white according to every illustration) capable of creating the universe is also bothered by what humans do.

china has been doing great without religion and its violence and harm to society.
i would 100% report them if they were illegally assembling or brainwashing people.

just look at what religion is doing today to the most savage regions in the world... the most religious countries are most in turmoil and conflict

You're kidding , right ?

At the Shu Le County Education Center, a sprawling three-story complex in China’s far west region of Xinjiang, the dormitories feature bars on windows and doors that only lock from the outside.

Inside are hundreds of minority Muslim Uighurs who have no way of leaving without an official escort, even though Chinese officials who took a group of foreign journalists around the “transformation through education” camp this week insisted they were there voluntarily. Asked what would happen if a Uighur refused to attend, Shu Le’s principal Mamat Ali became quiet

The persecution and genocide of Christians across the world is worse today “than at any time in history,”

www.newsweek.com...

www.foxnews.com...

At campuses throughout the country, outspoken Christians are regularly demeaned, debased and targeted for their beliefs. Academics, social groups, and college organizations regularly ridicule Christians by calling them hateful, bigoted, and privileged, among other labels. They conveniently forget that Christians have historically been among the most persecuted religious groups in the world and are still persecuted at ever-increasing levels throughout countries in Asia, Africa, and the Middle East.

Incidents like these demonstrate how Christians are being targeted in the United States for adhering to their values. When will we realize that the threat of religious persecution isn’t as “far away from home” as we may think? We need to take a stand and be vocal proponents of our rights, starting today.

Unlikely. The Chinese government has long had a disdain for ANY religion they deem "seditious". Especially those breaking the law by assembling without permit.

For the rest of the world, Christianity and Islam make up the majority of citizens. We are far more likely to see the non-religious or opposing belief systems suffer persecution than Christians or Muslims.

However, when a group is accustomed to privilege, such as the aforementioned are, equality feels like persecution.

Tell that to the estimated one million Uighur Muslims in "re-education" camps, many never to be heard of again.

Christian or Muslim it's a bad precident, but not unheard of from communist governments who would rather you view government as the higher power.

But when you pick and chose which ideology is acceptable for the state to go after, it just means yours can be next.

That's why I defend all ideologies so long as they're just expressing free speech. Whether that's Christian, Muslim, white nationalist ect. Some of them have had violent actors, and they have to atone to the law. But almost every organization has had bad actors, so we can't just persecute the whole group for a few bad apples.

You have to admit, they don't exactly treat religions in their Country, with the utmost respect. As a free Society they can run things as they wish, but why let Muslims and Christians emigrate if they're just going to treat them with such disdain? If that happened in Western Society, all hell would break loose.

China does not have freedom of Religion, actually their government is near atheist. They do not mind some following in the steps of the modified Buddhism, but want their people to be subservient to the government there, not gods. They also do not approve of Muslims much, they send them to camps to try to reprogram Muslims a lot to make sure their religion does not try to take over. I would guess Christians are also sent to those brainwashing camps.

Compared to the genocide caused by communism? Please stop your fake outrage. I don't care what people do as long as they don't cause violence. Banning all religion is authoritarian madness and against everything I stand for so yes I'm completely against banning all religion because Atheists have an ax to grind.

Once you ban religions Atheistism take over and some would argue might be worse based on the history of mass genocide caused by communism.

Atheism assumes moral high ground, don’t be clueless.
