The relationship between the socialist and capitalist parts of social democracy is more mutually interdependent than that but I agree its not socialism.

My point is it's an contradictory argument to claim that successfully social democracies are not socialist, but claim the policies of those countries are socialist therefore [insert failed socialist state of choice here] is an inevitable consequence.

It's absurd that democrats in the US call themselves socialist, while advocating for welfare state policies, which relies on a capitalist economic framework. I see nothing wrong with reminding them that socialism tends towards disaster.

As posted earlier I agree the use of 'democratic socialist' as a title is inaccurate.

Modern states use a mixed economic framework. The dependence is mutual, not one way.

Mixed as in capitalist markets with high regulation. There are mixed economies that premise their economy on socialist rather than capitalist economics, as in China and Vietnam.

Mixed as in having both private and public provision of goods and services. Pretty much every country in the world is, it's just where on the spectrum they sit.

Pretty much every country was at one point feudal, as well, until liberal economics emerged as a much better path. Most socialist countries have had to make liberal reforms in order to remain afloat.

I find it interesting that you seem to think that the so called people had nothing to do with and and just everything happened by accident, while they stood around and just twiddled there thumps. Well maybe that is exactly what they did, and just help sanction it all along. They are more or less a victim of there own choices more or less.

I merely don't attribute this as an act of malice, because it can be explained by stupidity an foolishness.

But rejoice this is far from the stupidest thing people have done, oh yes far far from it. In fact its not even in the top 10, of stupid stuff people or groups have done. I would say this whole socialism and capitalism vs Communism. Well its not even in the top thousand, and likely probably somewhere around the top hundred thousand of stupid stuff people have done. And if you got back to the very beginnings of human civilization? Its not even in the top billionth.

I would say its up there with the whole 1770s France and there potato wars. You see back then when the potato was first introduced they thought it was the devils plant, because it came from the ground, and also for a long time it was banned by law and it was also thought to cause leprosy.

In fact hundreds of thousands if not millions in that whole time span died of famine, even though they were knee deep in potatoes, simply because they refused to give it a try and find out. At some point even the king of the time thought to make it fashionable so that the peasants would eat it, and not starve, but then eventually he got his head cut off because of the salt tax he had, during the revolution. As salt at the time was the biggest money maker and black market deal going around.

Or here is a short summation of the events. And what I am sure to be many many many more funny things upcoming then the potato wars or communism and socialism in the coming years. It seems to be a trend in the thing called all of human history.
Cry Havoc, and let slip the spuds of war.
