Yeah, your first time for salmon looks pretty good.
I'd just up your temp, just let it sit out, covered for 45 min, so it's not cold, then do a 6 min a side
On med-high, more towards high.

One thing about grilling seafood that helps and is almost required is oiling the grill, or it will flake chunks off when you flip it.

With salmon, I found the best flavor of oil, by far is coconut spray oil.
It really, really tastes good, while veg oil tastes nasty imo. I spray it on right before the seafood goes on, and sometimes on the spot I'm flipping it to, if the surface isn't shiny/oily still.
Otherwise it sticks like crazy and destroys the look of the seafood.

Good luck dude, you made me hungry as heck now.

I'm going to play with Mandroids ideas in the near future.

This weekend I'm making a horizontal yiros for the 2nd time. We bought a BBQ for Xmas and the rotisserie attachment. Made about a 4kg (8.8) lbs yiros and the guests were drooling.

Marinaded for about 3-4 hrs and added (aside from the spices) greek yoghurt in the marinade.

The trial and miss part was creating an attachment for my kitchen bench to hold the spit to layer the meat vertically.
Used a clamp from my tool shed hahahahaha

the fun part is shaving it off - wife and son no.1 gave it the seal of approval before guests arrived.

Being a hooded BBQ I was able to experiment ( still getting a feel of the cooking times ) with other sausages and chicken breast on the side.

Many ciders were consumed in the sunny afternoon waiting & perfecting the cooking.

The BBQ & tools

@ 2:05 this is what it looked like
