Yeah, your first time for salmon looks pretty good.
I'd just up your temp, just let it sit out, covered for 45 min, so it's not cold, then do a 6 min a side
On med-high, more towards high.
One thing about grilling seafood that helps and is almost required is oiling the grill, or it will flake chunks off when you flip it.
With salmon, I found the best flavor of oil, by far is coconut spray oil.
It really, really tastes good, while veg oil tastes nasty imo. I spray it on right before the seafood goes on, and sometimes on the spot I'm flipping
it to, if the surface isn't shiny/oily still.
Otherwise it sticks like crazy and destroys the look of the seafood.
