Bush tells Syria to get out of Lebanon (moved from ATSNN), page 1

During a visit to Maryland, President Bush stated that Syria needed to pack up and head home.
His comments came while referencing the statements from Secretary of State Rice and French Foreign Minister Michel Barnier.

Arnold, Md. — U.S. President George W. Bush demanded in blunt terms Wednesday Syria get out of Lebanon, saying the free world is in agreement that Damascus's authority over the political affairs of its neighbor must end now.

Both of them stood up and said loud and clear to Syria, ‘You get your troops and your secret services out of Lebanon so that good democracy has a chance to flourish,” Mr. Bush said during an appearance at a community college in Maryland to tout job-training programs.

The president is clearly taking the recent Iraqi election and the people in Lebanon protesting Syria as a sign that change is comming in the middle east. Will the leaders of Syria also see this and adapt or resist remains to be seen?
