I guess you seen the Defcons ? This guy is brilliant, he found a backdoor in the x86 chip, going back 20 years, regardless of OS



This means ANY processor you are using today are easily breakable. Yeah your super secure linux OS is an easy hack!

Then there are are the memory sinkhole:


So, just for fun... does anyone have a workaround or a "cure" ?

Seen videos ? - No
Gone there by invitation ? -Yes
DEFCON was not always mainstream , and not out in the open at all .
Now , it is somewhat of a "job fair"

Everything has vulnerabilities .
It is the difficulty of the exploitation of those vulnerabilities that matter.

Not sure why you felt to mention linux. Hardware and software security are different things.


So, just for fun... does anyone have a workaround or a "cure" ?

The undocumented instruction can be worked around by checking the executable for unknown instructions and replacing them with nops. I am not sure if any OS is doing that. Maybe they should.

Yes, Hardware and software security are two different things. And it doesn't look like what question asked! I also need to know about it.
