it all depends on what you want to eat which is why I like the Reading Terminal Market approach.
You can get just about every flavor you want in there with the biggest issue being seating can be a problem at certain times of the day.

Plus it's busy and loud, as well as dirty.

In some ways its part of the fun....
What's not fun is reading the restaurant close lists on Philly.com ...

Too bad John's Roast Pork is out of the way in South Philly.. It's essentially the best place to go for a pork sammich or cheesesteak.

Masonic Hall tour is likely only an hour or so...? If so, let's start there.

Has everyone considered that the online persona will not quite match the IN-person persona?

On Ubering in Philadelphia:

Based on this key from the Philadelphia Uber Webpage:

and if my calculations are correct, it would cost around 17 dollars to travel 10 miles for 20 minutes with Uber Pool:
10 miles x .92 = $9.20
20 min x .30 = $6.00
$9.20 + $6.00 = $15.20 + $2.00 service fee = $17.20 (no base fee)

and it would cost around $20.00 to travel 10 miles for 20 minutes with UberX:

10 miles x .92 = $9.20
20 min x .32 = $6.40
$9.20 + $6.40 = $15.60 + base fare + service fees = $18.98

Going 10 miles in 20 minutes is basically traveling at 30 miles per hours.

SOOOOO if my calculations are correct and if the key is correct then it wouldn't be extra expensive to uber to and from a hotel, as long as the hotel isn't a bajillion miles away (GPS's are good tools as well). Even Ubers that fit larger groups up to 6 people aren't that much more. But I mean, I haven't had a ton of experience ubering around in Philadelphia so I could be wrong, but! I thought these measurements could be helpful.

Isn’t that part of the fun of a social experiment like this though?

I do auto get-togethers (G2G) pretty often, or at least used to. To me, it should be just like that, no biggie. My wife will come and maybe one other person, if that's ok.

I'm driving in from 100 miles away, so my main concern is parking.

Just beaching the van in front of uncle George's statue won't work for long.

I have a Jeep Cherokee that can fit 4 additional people if we are driving places.

Plenty of parking in Center City..
I worked out of the Wanamaker Building for many years so if anyone needs advice just let me know!

Out of curiosity, how many of us are staying at a hotel and does anyone have any suggestions for said hotel that will still leave me enough money to get into museums, eat and forgo as much adulting as possible? Though in mid May, I’m all too happy to sleep in my car as well haha. The less I spend on a room, The more rounds of drinks I can cover for us. Just trying to think ahead so that there is less thinking involved and more beverages to be had.

You’re more than welcome to. I just can’t make any promises pertaining to any cuddling or snuggling after 5 double Grey Goose screwdrivers. Just fair warning.

You make it sound like 8 expected a different turn of events. That trunk is comfortable as hell.

I didn't mean your trunk, I meant the one I usually keep my gimp in.
