Holy crap dude.

How about you actually pay attention to the video?

youtu.be...

Here I even linked to the exact moment where you can see these numbers being refuted by the CBP commissioner.

Anything else you want me to spoon feed you? Say it now because I won't give another opportunity for inanities.

Pay attention to the video?
Was trying to, but am unable to see, what everyone else in this thread sees as obvious.

Thanks for posting the discussed vid.

A: So Lieu says: "border apprehensions have decreased by 75%, between 2000 and 2018".
The first 'supposed' refutation by the CBP commissioner, is him mentioning a 120% increase in border apprehensions, between 2017, to 2018.
He also mentions: "76000 total apprehensions and inadmissible arrivals", in February of 2018, and he says that's :"higher than any February, in the last 12 years".

Please specify: what other info from that sequence, that am missing, so that we can all agree with the video.
Because am sorry to say, that was absolutely unable to see the reference to the whatever statistics, that apparently so clearly refuted the the claim of:
"border apprehensions have decreased by 75%, between 2000 and 2018".

If we could find an agreement: then perhaps we could move-on, afterwards, to the two other 'supposed' Ted truths.

It was a disingenuous statement which was, statistically factual, but intentionally ignorant of a very important side statistic which was not in play in 2000. In 2000, the number was raw apprehensions, but the CBP no longer counts "those seeking lawful entry into the United States “but are determined to be inadmissible,” CBP says, as well as those seeking “humanitarian protection,” such as refugee or asylum status, and “individuals who withdraw an application for admission and return to their countries of origin within a short timeframe."

What Lieu's lies fail to cover is the fact that asylum applications have risen 1,700 percent in the past 10 years.
www.politifact.com...

In 2007, 5,171 people claimed credible fear and had their cases reviewed.

In 2016, it was 91,786.

So the 76000 inadmisibles in Feb of 2018 is damn near as much as all of 2016, alone and 2016 was a dark blot for border security enforcement as it was...

So nobody has said "OMG, we're back to 2000 levels" we've said that the numbers are climbing again and they're climbing dramatically. Add in the fact that apprehensions require funding and ICE's funding growth has been anemic compared to most other federal agencies, with most of the growth in border security going to Homeland security pet projects rather than enforcement, and the number of illegals that can be assumed to have slipped past the patrol like a rat slips through a room devoid of cats, can be assumed to be quite a startling number.

I mean, he played her words back, she had to "explain herself" later

I don't agree with anything she said, Do I think she "supports Hitler" No, I don't, but she used him as an example and said it would have been fine if he kept his "Nationalism" in Germany, if you want to associate Hitlers National-socialism or" Nazism" with other kinds of "Nationalism" that is on you

Ok now allow me to repeat your words back to you.

I mean... I agree with anything she said. I think she supports Hitler. and... it would have been fine if he kept his Nationalism in Germany.

Now if I were to go around repeating YOUR WORDS to others, YOU might have to "explain yourself" so I guess that means I didnt do nothin wrong, bein that you was forced to defend yourself, lookin all guilty an whatnot huh? An accused person, having to EXPLAIN themselves? Thats all I need to hear to know that theres definitely two sides to this story, and that guy what was doin all the accusin, he may be onto somethin! (I'm too cowardly to come right out and agree with him, but I'll just subtly hint at it by implying that what he did was not technically wrong...)

You've excused this man's behavior based on the fact that she chose to clarify his attempt at obfuscation. Her self defense, in your mind, retroactively validates his vicious attack on her integrity. Think about that if you're able.

Sure, "he can go to hell like the rest of them", meaning every politician, so all that means is youve refused to indict his individual behavior, attempted to normalize it, and furthermore you've taken the additional unnecessary step of downplaying his innapropriate behavior.

Can we stop pretending you Don't favor the Democrats? And can we admit that you favor them simply because of your hatred for Trump?

What is the link, between the info you have posted, and how the stat was refuted, in the video?

Is it implied that everyone viewing the vid, and commenting in this thread, knows that info, and so therefore it need not be mentioned?

I get my data from the CBP and the video shows the commissioner stating numbers far above the 75% reduction claimed by Lieu.

Basic math betrays his lie.

The Democrats are Deflection ist. They rob a bank and then blame it on the Republicans.

The Dems knew that Hillary is the biggest liar EVER in the political history of the United States, so to counter that they created the story that Trump always lies.

Yet we all know that Hillary lies about everything, from how she got her name to where she put her mail to who her husband is sleeping with.

SNIPER FIRE!

Sorry Ted, but HILLARY is still politics BIGGEST LIAR EVER.

You don't have the red decoder ring so you have no idea what she really meant. These people can say whatever they want and when you call them out on it they jump all over you and say you're taking them out of context, these same people jump down people like AOC and ilhan Omar's throats whenever they open their mouths.

Anyone who doesn't worship trump or his agenda is a card carrying commie that hates America, the Constitution, wants to take away your guns and is most likely racist.

One would think that people would want to disassociate themselves from Hitler, so when someone downplays their Nazism as "Globalism" and says it would have been fine if he kept his Nationalism in Germany

She was trying to show that people associate Nationalism with Hitler. What Hitler did was not nationalism. Had he kept his views within Germany then "fine", you can associate his political views with Nationalism. But he didnt, he went outside of Germany and tried to make other countries adhere to his political views. That's not nationalism so even if leftist were trying to paint Nationslists with the same brush as a homicidal maniac, Nationalism would not be the correct color. It would be globist, whether homicidal maniac or not.

In the video:

Ted's claim was: "Border apprehensions have decreased by 75%, between 2000 and 2018".

The CBP Commissioner's stats of: "a 120% increase in border apprehensions, between 2017, to 2018", and
he also mentions: "76000 total apprehensions and inadmissible arrivals", in February of 2018, and he says that's :"higher than any February, in the last 12 years".

And it's "basic math", to see how those two bits of info, completely and totally invalidate Ted's claim?

Ok.
Must have missed that course.
Thanks for taking the time to answer.

I think that border crossings have been down from 2000-2016 and spiked dramatically in the last two years. It is in my opinion that border crossers saw Trump's tough stance on illegal immigration as their call to cross over as soon as possible in order to get here before it becomes harder and harder. Illegals have been here working and saving money to send for their families and I think they believe it's now or never to get their families here because with trump and the wall looking they are running out of time.

Maybe you're right.
But does an opinion, prove that Ted Lieu's supposed 'truth': is a lie?

No. It's a half-baked theory that dismissed all credible information.

I just added it into "the discussion" read up on it and educate yourself before you ask the rest of us to do your homework. It always helps to educate yourself prior to opining on a topic, not doing so often makes a person look like an ass.

Instead of answering the question: your reply is blaming me for a supposed lack of education, talking down to me, and a veiled insult?

Do you really think that folks are too stupid to not notice that?
