So you think Bernie Panders woulda saved us?

lulz.

No, not at all. What I said is the real owners of this country would never allow anyone like Bernie Sanders to get elected.

Nah, that was Hillary Clinton and DWS.

I particularly agree with the final sentence in Carlin's rant. " It's called the American Dream because you have to be asleep to believe it''.

That is what Maga is all about, the American Dream, that time in the US when everything was better.
That Dream worked for some when the contenent was mostly empty except for the few of those who already lived here and had not died off from the diseases imported from European expansionism.

It worked as well after WW2 when the entire industrial world had been bombed to smithereens and the only manufacturing base left in the entire world was the industrial base in the US. That one began to fade once the children of that war grew up and demanded a culture that was not as repressive and regimented as ours was then. Basically one generation for that Aamerican Dream to turn in to nightmare.

I'm just amazed by how people think politics matter in this country.

How long have you held this belief?

They don't. NOTHING has changed since Trump got elected. Nothing will change in the future.

Not necessarily true. Politics has become a long, arduous, process of waiting for a friend to pick up the check while you stay at the table and keep eating long after the friend has left, but in the end it is the future generations freedoms that will inevitably change, just slowly and wearily.
