Survivors Guilt

Inside the doors and past
the checkout lines he stops;
stunned by aisle after aisle
of cans, boxes, and cartons.

While far away in another land
the bombs destroy trucks
carrying wheat for the hungry.

He sees this in his mind
while stumbling out again.

Then many years of knowing.

Could be seen as future too, as you evidently have.

Dunno.. I entirely related to it when I came back from a three year overseas tour and walked into a Wal-Mart.

Then lived on the streets for awhile because I couldn't deal with stuff yet.

People can read something and come to entirely different (mind pictures?) of the story based on their reality.

I enjoyed it... thank you.

I absolutely hate it.

To me it's insulting on a lot of levels.
