It is a rant, but as the topic involves pointing out a member of one political side's bullschiff, it is a rant which can only exist on ATS within the Political Mud Pit forum. That both ball spiking from one side and lugubriousness with lashing out to occur from the other side.

You're being obtuse. Trump and the GOP literally raised taxes on average Americans.

Now who's being obtuse?

You do understand that Trump doesn't want to impose tarriffs just for fun, he is doing this as a negotiating tool, to level the playing field.

You do realize that the countries he is threatening to or has imposes tarriffs on all - I repeat all - are imposing tarrifs on our goods - right?

If I were Trump - and if this is something that could be done by EO (not sure) - I'd just issue a simple two sentence EO:

The United States of America hereby announces the creation of the Reciprocal Tariff Trade Policy.

From this day forward, any country that imposes any Tariffs on American goods going into their country, will immediately be faced with the exact same Tariff rate on all goods coming into the United States from their country.

If any country wants zero Tariffs on their goods, all they have to do is elimnate Tariffs on our goods going into their country.

You sound like you know what you are talking about but you don't.

But the NYT does? Crack me up...

But give it time, grasshopper, these things take a little time.

I just hope Trumps tax cuts round 2 (these would be aimed more at individuals) make the docket this year.

Not to mention the stupoid Trade Wars he's started. Farmers in America are already feeling that.

Again - give it time, grasshopper.

Stupid? What is stupid about wanting fair trade with other countries? Why should they get to levy huge tariffs on our goods, but we give them a pass?

No more, another campaign promise in the process of being kept.

There is a lot of evidence, Bro.

www.vox.com...

Evidence? I read the article... a lot of yammering, but no real evidence of obstruction.

The only substantive thing I can see as having the potential is the firing of Comey, but the fact is, just firing Comey did absolutely nothing to impede the investigation.

His Presidency has resulted in how many indictments and how many convictions?

No convictions having anything to do with Russia, only ridiculous process crimes.

Indictments? You mean of all of those uber scary Russian spies and boogeymen?

Rotflmao!

No evidence? Are you daft?

this only reinforces the fact these people constantly misrepresent reality and substitute their own opinions or delusions as it suits their needs

While I do not agree with him in the slighest including his rhetoric of nazi calling, as if trying to appeal to his listeners, I have zero clue who he is or why his opinion is of relevance or even care, surely 1 swallow does not a summer make, or are you, misrepresenting reality and substituting your own opinion or delusions as it suits your needs, IE all to the left of you are "morons" ala that guy
It’s fairly simple. It’s a case of projection, as the guy or whatever gender type that person is who wrote the Twitter is upset that the person in the WH isn’t doing what he wants him to do. Therefore he must be a Nazi. Ironically, the hero of the Left Soros was an actual Nazi collaborator. And it’s even common knowledge. That tweet is an irrational bit of fiction.

a reply to: Tartuffe

It is unfortunate Tartuffe. The mountain of evidence showing impropriety and frankly despicable behaviors among investigators (Strozok, Page, Ohr, McCabe, Comey and so on) should be alarming to anyone. And the fact the phoney dossier ever saw a FISA court is equally disturbing

I am however impressed someone actually came in here to have a conversation with us, outside the normal echo chamber and circular firing squads

That itself is a start
It is unfortunate that Japan is coming out against the first free enterprise Potus we’ve had since Reagan being that Japan is one of the few still Capital countries left after the ravages of socialism. Ironically I read in a college class that Japan is so protectionist that their citizens are willing to pay higher prices to keep their manufacturing at home and the citizens buy almost exclusively their own product. Ironic. I don’t see millions emigrating to
Japan every year.

That's hilarious. How does applying tariff's on Canada provide better leverage for the US? The US already had leverage. Further, who benefited from the Soy Bean tariff with China?

The answer is multilateral and it sure as heck doesn't focus on the people. The answer is actually a bit more stimulating and favors oligarchical characters more than it really has anything to do with Trump caring about the country.

And the people that voted for him are still hurting.

President Donald Trump's trade war made last year tough for American soybean farmers, but 2019 could be the year they really start feeling the pain -- despite Beijing's pledge to resume buying from the United States.
The amount of soybeans sitting in storage in December hit a record high of 3.7 billion bushels, according to new data from the US Department of Agriculture. That's equivalent to about 80% of the total US harvest last year.

You do realize that the countries he is threatening to or has imposes tarriffs on all - I repeat all - are imposing tarrifs on our goods - right?

That's a natural response to being ambushed. I am not forgetting who did what first.

One of my biggest fascinations is how cherrypicking people can be from the right. You just pick and choose which arguments to get outraged on. If Obama had done a tenth of what Trump had done, Fox News would have actually needed Obamacare.

That said, I recognize that this is a huge topic. We're not even off topic because the OP is just ambiguous enough to pretty much be a left vs right issue. But that's the thing. It's difficult to encapsulate all of the issues with Trump, Oligarch Manipulation, complacency within the GOP and the fact that Trump is still guilty of crimes from before his Presidency. His Judge sister resigned to prevent an investigation into her taxes and Trump is threatening his own companies with lawsuits if they comply with Congressional subpoenas. How do explain that?

Gerrymandering and Troll Farm purchasing is the only reason that you have an audience that thinks that is a valid point.

Dems are citizens that want to help people. Some Dems are as money/power driven as the curent GOP but it's a different day than it was a few years ago.

You hate Soros? Who's Mercer?

Obviously not enough - and now they are talking. and looks like we'll get a fair trade agreement rather than the joke that was NAFTA.

Further, who benefited from the Soy Bean tariff with China?

In the long run, we will, because China will remove the huge tariffs they've had on our products since forever, and - again - we'll end up with a fair trade agreement.

The answer is multilateral and it sure as heck doesn't focus on the people. The answer is actually a bit more stimulating and favors oligarchical characters more than it really has anything to do with Trump caring about the country.

Be careful, you're going to break your mouth on those big words that you try to use but don't understand.

And the people that voted for him are still hurting.

Short term pain for long term gain. Reality ... is.

That's a natural response to being ambushed.

Eh? Other nations imposed ridiculous unfair tariffs on goods from the USA as a response to us ambushing them?

You must have awful migraines from all of the twisting and distorting you have to engage in to try to discuss anything to do with Trump.

I am not forgetting who did what first.

By all means, enlighten us, oh enlightened one.

One of my biggest fascinations is how cherrypicking people can be from the right.

That is hilarious, seeing as how dems are the rpoyalty of shrrypicking.

It's difficult to encapsulate all of the issues with Trump, Oligarch Manipulation,

You just like to make stuff up as you go... some people are good at that. Some, like you, just make others laugh when you try... keep it up!

complacency within the GOP

Complacency? You mean like the RINOs that gave Trump so much grief (Ryan, McCain (traitor)?

and the fact that Trump is still guilty of crimes from before his Presidency.

Oh, so you have sat on some secret grand juries and have first hand knowledge of some dubious crimes he has committed? Please, do tell!

His Judge sister resigned to prevent an investigation into her taxes

How would resigning stop an IRS audit/criminal investigation?

Answer: it wouldn't.

and Trump is threatening his own companies with lawsuits if they comply with Congressional subpoenas. How do explain that?

Fishing expeditions are precisely what the 4th amendment is there to protect us against.

Congress has no - nada - zilch - zero right to subpoena any of his personal business records.
