Leftists throw around many terms to describe Republicans, but they typically leave out the actual reasons and prefer to use talking points that tested better in their focus groups. Anyhow, one Dem voter expresses his point of view and finally gets to the heart of the matter: They want what we have worked hard for. In their laziness, they are angry that we have largely been successful (financially, normal happy family, love our country, etc). In laymans terms, they are pouting because they want our stuff and we won't give it to them.

Take this specific illiberal democrat, for instance, He makes it very clear:

against the fascists

There are no fascists. The only ones trying to ram their opinions down other's throats is the left. Republicans, for example, already control the government/most courts/etc and thus we only seek to maintain what is already ours. There is nothing to ram down anybody's throat. From the left-wing perspective, we have it all and they want to lash out and "Make us pay" for being successful

so that we overwhelm them and make them pay big time for their excesses.

We don't have "Excesses"

We have our private property purchased with our privately owned money which we exchange for various goods and services

We have a Nazi in the White House. It's kind of urgent.

What a moron. No actual evidence to back this up, mind you. Nothing more than partisan politics- playing fast & loose with the words in typical dem fashion. Of course no evidence of a factual Nazi party member will ever be unearthed or provided because it doesn't exist. Point in fact, there are no "Nazis" in the WH and this only reinforces the fact these people constantly misrepresent reality and substitute their own opinions or delusions as it suits their needs

While I do not agree with him in the slighest including his rhetoric of nazi calling, as if trying to appeal to his listeners, I have zero clue who he is or why his opinion is of relevance or even care, surely 1 swallow does not a summer make, or are you, misrepresenting reality and substituting your own opinion or delusions as it suits your needs, IE all to the left of you are "morons" ala that guy

I agree with your point here about over-generalizing/lumping all into a bucket as a general practice.

This said, having lived outside Portland, OR - my personal experience is that the comments in question that the OP quoted would play nicely in almost any venue in PDX.

The notion of the intellectual liberal is pretty well dead amongst the masses. Far left progressives are unhinged, lacking introspection or deeper analysis, rarely present facts with data/scale/etc. and largely function out of hatred from my perspective - why the hatred I’m not sure but it feels like raw hatred.

As a “For instance”... the African-American unemployment has touched all time lows as recently as December. A headline figure, sure, but it’s a thing that happened.

www.google.com...

What does the media say? Trumps a bigot and orange man is bad. Really? Ok...

While I’m not a massive Trump fan, I am entirely disenfranchised with the left. Even when I find myself agreeing with them on some level at least philisophically, I really don’t want to be associated with their grungy, emotional, pouty, whiny, loser/low-self-esteem image and wild hypocrisy.

I mean, at least a conservative will say “yeah - I’m a capitalist - so what.” Or say “no, I worked hard so I dont live in public subsidized housing and I don’t want to - so don’t build the low income housing units next to my house”.

The liberals will say they hate the rich but take all the cash they can get. They’ll say we need to solve the homeless problem but don’t want the solution in their yard either. Liberals sure sound ideological but genuine they are not.

I think he is saying that this guy and anyone to the left of this guy is a total moron.

I wholeheartedly disagree. Turn about is fair play... it is time for the intelligent, hard working, responsible voters in America to start calling the people responsible for the Alt Left imbeciles and Leftist asshats we currently have in DC: namely the moronic halfwits who voted for them. Either vote responsibly, or shoulder the blame and embarrassment that deserves to be heaped on those in the US who not only don't take voting seriously, but actively vote to elect retards to be their representatives in DC.

Does that mean you are for doxing these people? The left doesn't have a problem with doxing it seems.

Not exactly... they dox themselves, generally. Political donation lists are public record in most states, and Democrats have this delightful habit of plastering bumper stickers for their preferred politician onto the ass of their Subaru... so what would be the point of calling it a doxing?

Whatever, they have more than enough. There's too much to go around and collect for points and competition among all of the people who don't need it, including the evil liberals trying to seize your life savings and bank accounts.

Besides, you were born into a decently middle class family with necessary bells and whistles to have a good chance to prosper at least. Maybe even upper middle class or wealthy. Might not have had to pay for own college and was allowed even encouraged to live at home rent free for as long as possible. Might still do. May have inherited the property and paid nada for most of what you have and enjoy or what was used up to present. If not, probably has name on the will in addition to the life insurance. Family businesses are great. It's a hard, honest living and difficult but rewarding career path with plenty of competition. You've really got to study and perform.

Nobody is rubbing their hands together greedily as motivation to devote their entire lives to being opposite of you politically yet equally represented in government. Grasping for straws and new reasons to hate, demonize, give the other side more hell and the stink eye. It's like the Jews in WWII Germany really. They were doing the same thing, stealing and conspiring, trying to take the hard earned wealth and influence from the German people. They had infiltrated government institutions and everything else like the dems do. The dems are using their playbook and it's going to continue until we hail the equivalent of a third reich nationalistic system, round them up, seize their wealth before they keep trying to take ours, just like you said.

This type of BS is the OPPOSITE of liberalism! How much clearer can I make that? ILLiberal not liberal

Everyone to my left is not an idiot. I know that because quite a few on my left denounced the BS this idiot was spewing. These people no more represent mainstream (read: actual) Dems than the anti-capitalist socialist crowd.

These people have perpetuated lie after lie after lie. And it isn't a misunderstanding or just them not knowing...they maliciously and intentionally repeat bogus talking points. Hell, we witnessed an entire investigation/media firestorm (The Russiahoax) that was nothing but a collection of breathless rumors, innuendo and "SEE! This happened so A to D to B to Z to A again proves its true!" or "MSNBC: CNN says this. CNN: MSNBC says this is true."

They deserve to be called out for what they did and are doing. Hopefully they can learn something before they drag the dems to their worst defeat probably ever. Contrary to what you wrote here, I was a democrat and am horrified at the direction my forming stomping grounds are heading. Moderates and centrists, meanwhile, are too afraid to say anything for fear of losing the election (whiny pouty little kids won't show up to vote if they don't get 100% of their way) or being brow-beat by radicals.

Mainstream dems despise radicals as much as Republicans do. That is bipartisan. Oh, and they actually show up to vote even when a candidate doesn't "energize" them enough

That's why we keep winning. Our people actually show up. We run on the issues with a clear agenda but most importantly an actual plan of action that is practicable. Radicals come up with all these high horse ideals and purist absolutes but have absolutely no plan of action or worse yet their plan is something that would be catastrophic for the US and by proxy the World order. $90,000,000,000 Green New Deal. Give me a # break.

The one thing I never quite understood about the whole "privilege" narrative is that if this other group of people are so "privileged" wouldn't it make more sense to try to be more like them instead of vowing to forever be the opposite of that particular group of people. Isn't that a self-fulling prophecy of utter failure in your life?

I know in my life if I come across someone who is doing something better than me I tend to pattern my behavior after theirs so I can achieve the same success. Obviously, sometimes there are moral factors like cheating to win that I want no part of and that is certainly something we should all be cognizant of and monitor. But if it's just a case of someone is doing something better than I am then I would be an absolute fool to retreat into bitterness over that fact and rail against them.

The new Trump-era recipe for ATS:

1. Find anecdotal story where someone on the left looks bad
2. Paint a very broad brush and apply it to all of the left at large
3. Have a multi-page whine-fest complete with back patting, low rent memes, old man tough-guy talk and stars
4. Repeat

Shameful. And no better than the MSM you have so much distain for.

Here's a "few" more...including one good soul who had some common sense. Blue butteryfly avatar person, this ones to you Push back on those zealot radicals. (yes, these are from 3 separate comments/pages)

I can do this all night. Only names and certain curse words have been censored to make it age appropriate and because I'm not a POS who "doxing" people

Interesting the poster talking about slavery obviously doesn't realize *we* are the ones who freed the slaves. They were the ones who fought to keep them, along with preventing desegregation of our schools. More convenient revisionist history

Pushing back against the lies and BS narratives

Do you actually believe that it wouldn't be easy to find countless right wing idiots spouting off inanity and acting beyond foolish? Would you say they represent all those on the right? Do you believe that this is the right game to play? It's deceptive, beyond partisan, MSM games that you are now wrapped up in. Pulling lines from comment sections now and trying to paint the left with them? We're at a real all time low around here. And it's on you.

The progressives fought to free the slaves. The progressives fought for civil rights. The progressives fought for women's rights. The conservatives fought them tooth, nail, jailing, and lynching. Rep and Dem are just party names that mean little based on how often they've swapped around. But you know this. It's your lies of omission are just that.

You don't provider any evidence either.

You provided a few examples and then labeled leftists as horrible people. My brother is liberal and he makes more than me and has a wonderful family.

And to be honest, you didn't need to qualify anything with 'Layman's terms'. The entire thing was layman's terms.

I don't think that you are being anything but disingenuous. The liberal people I know kind of just want people to be okay. They don't support a career criminal who is obviously doing his best to hide. I kind of agree with them.

You're also not right about Republicans freeing the slaves. That's either extreme ignorance or blatant falsehood.

Either should be unacceptable from you.

More revisionist history BS. Pres. Lincoln = Republican. The Republican party freed the slaves and kept the Union together.

FYI, I specifically didn't label democrats horrible people I labeled radical zealot leftists horrible people because they are. Generally not very intelligent either, despite their constant condescending arrogant attitude. Goes to show you, all that underwater basketweaving and feminism effects on icebergs in college doesn't *actually* make you smart
