She was demonstrating one of tenants of socialism in which manufacturing is placed in the hands of the people rather than the owners. In this example, final assembly of your expensive furniture. Given that a good percentage of Americans were C students in 7th grade shop class and didn’t take shop in high school, it isn’t a good sign to leave it to the people to hopefully get it right.

Try not to misinterpret what I wrote.

When saying you can't mispeak, I was not to be taken literally but figuratively. There is nothing that actually prevents you from committing a verbal gaffe that magically occurs that makes you impervious to them when you get elected that same way that physically exiting your mother's birth canal is not what magically makes one human.

Instead, the point was that you dare not make such mistakes when speaking as a politician because the press will seize on anything they like in order to legitimize you in the eyes of the public. In this case, saying the wrong word or mispronouncing a word is clear evidence that one possesses an IQ one order of magnitude south of 100 ... sort of like misspelling potato verbally clearly must.

Good point about baby Bush. I'm a republican, but I'll call it like I see it.

George jr. Is abou 3 IQ points above a moron.

.... and there is a body of evidence that suggests she's less than a deep thinker when it comes to, like, policies and stuff.

Yeah, maybe.

But she really does have a cute little voice and always comes across as being quite passionate and energetic... I actually like her and think more people like her should get into politics.

If nothing else, it's a nice change from the relentless bs the average politician who would generally be considered as 'highly intelligent' (in a tradition sense) tries to feed us, with there ridiculously boring monotonic tone.

Honestly, as someone who spent time working with people who have specific learning disabilities, it's very easy to pick on malapropisms and mispeaking and other similar signs and judge intellect when they aren't often connected.

As a parent of a child with two specific learning disabilities, people like you will judge my above average intellect son as a moron for the rest of his life when he's anything but because of such artificial measures.

Mispeaking is mispeaking for AOC and for GW. Now, if AOC has put this into writing where you have the chance to re-read your thoughts and think about what you are about to post and still posts a word that does not mean what she clearly thinks it does, I'm a little less forgiving, and there is a body of evidence that suggests she's less than a deep thinker when it comes to, like, policies and stuff.

I don't know your son, and not sure why you would bring him up in the pit, but he's neither my president, nor a congressman, part of who's "job" is to speak (convey their ideas) to constituents.

I'll stand by my opinion about the lack of intelligence on both. You can give a cow a fancy name, but he still makes a better steak, than political leader

so she obviously meant deprived.

guess if you dont like a person they cant misspeak.

but people are freaking out now cause she was talking and putting furniture together?

hahahahhaahah

Dudeman dude...have you noticed the size of her chest? It's huge. First noticed this is her college libberdance and then in another pic of her wearing a gold turtleneck. There's a reason nobody ever shows her chest. It's because we all would say she gets places because of her Dolly Parton's.

For all of you attempting to defend AOC and her gaffe prone attempts at reaching the people.... Kick rocks! I notice that as long as you dislike someone it's kosher to pick apart everything they do or say. But as soon as your sacred cows get targeted it's soo wrong. Dan Quayle, Bush jr and Trump, oh how you all railed and still rail against those you believe are"dumb". Sorry kiddos getting into politics means being in the public eye and getting criticized. Fact is she not smart enough to know when to lay low. We hear all the time about Trumps ego and yet not a peep about the obvious ego on Aoc. She is the microcosm of her generation, so full of self-righteous indignation and ohh so much more intelligent then the rest of us. The type of arrogance that may well damn us all by refusing to acknowledge their limitations.

I brought him and others like him up because smart people don't always come off that way for reasons beyond their control.

See Albert Einstein who was thought an idiot for quite a long time because he didn't display his intellect in the traditional way thanks to learning issues.

I'm not defending her. She's an idiot, but you can figure that out based on more than one word used out of place.

Anything to back that up about AE?

That is a Myth, about Einstein. Nobody thought he was an idiot. He had idiosyncrasies, a completely different thing.

Back to the thread topic.

AOC has been in the public eye enough for you to have an opinion, so I'll ask you a direct question. Do you think she is particularly intelligent?

You have a few choices here. You can actually answer the question. You can evade answering, by tapdancing with your son, or Einstein. You can say you don't want to be judgmental, but you judge Trump. You can choose not to answer at all.

AOC, regularly, makes statements, which are not only so historically inaccurate, that an eighth grader would call her out, but she uses words, of which, she, obviously doesn't know the definition.

She, somehow, has a degree in economics, but has not even a basic working knowledge of the subject, to the point where she costs the people of NYC the Amazon deal.

So I ask, in your opinion, is she a smart individual?

SARCASM-
a sharp and often satirical or ironic utterance designed to cut or give pain

Did you honestly believe my post was serious? Look, I don't even dislike AOC... as I've said repeatedly, it's actually quite the opposite. Her politics don't impact me much because it wouldn't matter if she was single handedly responsible for populating a brand new class of politics called "Alt-Right Democratic," I'd not have any interest in voting for her because she's a clueless twit (note, I'm on good behavior and called the runt a twit with an i... also note, "runt" was used, starting with the letter 'r'... I'm compliant with societal expectations and norms here.) I like her because she is so batcrap insane with her positions (at least her political positions... which are the only positions we're not left to speculation and daydreaming about) are loony leftist to the point that she's pushing moderates away from her party!!! That enthralls me and makes her aces in my book. That said, to ensure the largest swath of moderates are fully informed of the nutjob's stances, we must not miss any opportunity to identify her reeking of sour ass where ideas and statements are concerned. "What's that smell like a catfish in the sun mixed with sour milk and a hint of rotten eggs? Oh, it's Alexandria's ideas. Girl, wash that mental ass!" is now a thing in the world we live in. Embrace it or don't, but don't disingenuously act like any American voter should be above it because we're not.
