Is anyone else curious, why this person would claim to be Timothy, specifically, as apposed to any other "missing" child out there?
I'm sure the investigators are asking that same question. I would like to hear the answer, for sure.
Heart goes out to the family. To get your hopes up after all these years...
Who knows but I'll say this, In what WORLD does that man look like a 14 year old! Why it would even be leaked that there was any possibility on earth, should have immediately been squashed with one look at the guy.

I agree, I just saw this on the news. It's disturbing that anyone would want to fake this.
that is a huge age difference.
Remains to be seen what on earth the mothers' involvement was....had she ever taken him out of school before?

The DNA results came back, negative. But....
Who's DNA did they use? Mom is dead, did they use Dads? If they used Dads DNA, and Mom jumped the fence unknowingly, It would be a negative.
It might be the right kid after all........

Maybe. They’re investigsting this guy for possible connections to a more serious crime. It’s possible the description of the two guys are of actual people he’s associated with. But it’s equally as possible they were bad guy characters from a movie he saw.
While they were trying to get information from him, he kept acting childish about everything. If they wanted information about Timmothys family he would tell them he was too tired to answer questions over and over again. He was uncoroperative about getting fingerprints. Just a total pain in the arse for LEO’s.
He made the claim he was Timmothy and somehow the media got wind of it. Law enforcement was never really sold on his claim but because the media got a hold of it it became more delicate. Anytime someone says they are a missing child, within reason, they have to investigate the claim. Obviously, they can’t be completely dismissive. In this case LEO but their tongues and played along.
They never wanted to get Timmothys family involved or get every one from Cincinnati to Iowa all riled up over it. The media just ran with it and took some of the investigation out of their control. They wanted to continue questioning him and get the DNA results before it went public.
