It has to do with whether there is a conflict of interest for the president that may influence his policy decisions.

Democrats are just lending a helping hand to Donald. He has said plenty of times that he will release his tax returns. The problem he is having stems from early onset dementia and he cannot recall his promises. Thus, Democrats just want to help Trump keep his word.
