A White House whistleblower has told members of Congress that Donald Trump’s administration overturned more than two dozen denials for security clearances, often ignoring the guidance of intelligence officials.

Tricia Newbold, a White House security adviser holding nearly two decades of experience with clearances, made the allegations during an interview with the House oversight and reform committee last month, according to a letter and memo released Monday by the committee chairman, Elijah Cummings of Maryland.

“According to Ms Newbold, these individuals had a wide range of serious disqualifying issues involving foreign influence, conflicts of interest, concerning personal conduct, financial problems, drug use, and criminal conduct,” the panel wrote in the memo.

Trump ordered officials to give Kushner top-secret security clearance – report

Senior administration officials were so troubled by the decision to grant Kushner the credentials last year on Trump’s say-so that the then White House chief of staff, John Kelly, wrote an internal memo about how he had been ordered to give Kushner the top-secret clearance. Doubts raised concerned Kushner’s international business dealings.

The White House counsel at the time of the development, Donald McGahn, also wrote an internal memo outlining concerns raised about Kushner and how McGahn had recommended against the decision.

Oh no! We should start a years-long investigation! Oh wait, that's already happened? Well, I'm sure this slipped past them.

That's an interesting question, where does that one come from ?

Y'all are batty. Do you realize there's a specific point where your "cause" becomes detrimental rather than beneficial. You're blind. It's tragic to watch, even from the other side.

I know guys who have stolen police cars and blown up gas stations that have TS-SCI Clearances. I got into a fight with and escaped from an entire police station.

As long as you're up front about past transgressions, they are not an impediment to getting a clearance.

Not saying all these cases are okay, but the leftists reeee-ing over everything makes it hard to get worked up about their latest outrage.

Right after Trump was sworn in, there was a flurry of reports about the security gatekeepers refusing to allow security clearances for his choices of ass't. Is it feasible to stop the incoming administration in it's tracks by withholding any and all security clearances?? Hindsight is 20-20, and Trump may have been better off to deep six all of the D.C. Swamp's security clearances and start the process over, leaving out most or all of Obama's appointees.

You do realize that as President of the United States, Trump can grant security clearances to whomever he wants to, right?

Since at the end of the day, he is is the ultimate deciding official on all things classified.

It was created as an inherent part of his Article 2 powers.

No, you probably didn't know that.

Here... I'll give you an extremely biased right-wing link to read.

I don't doubt it.

Imagine how hard it would be to get security clearances for the rotating band of criminals and perverts Donald Trump surrounds himself with as President.

He'd probably have to intervene most of the time.

Can you send me a link to the Communist fan-boi club?

HILLARY had a security clearance and she's as dodgy as fluck - your argument, therefore, is totally invalid.

Totally.

Yup,totally agree, hats off, i bow down to you
'rules' and 'oversight' howevever, exist for a reason ...
To avoid being beholden to 'outside' pressure being one example

For the last 2yrs, the Republican house and senate have turned a blind eye
Times are changing : like it or not, rules exist
Trump is not exempted because of bone spurs

It was awfully good of those officials to put all of the details of their...

...on their application forms, don't you think?

Unless, of course, it was just rumour and speculation?

He is following the rules as written and has no oversight in this department.

No need to bow... just pointing out the obvious.

Hope you learn from it though.

And......what law has been broken?

What punishment do you have in mind and what exactly will Congress do about it?
I think they should have weeks of hearings about it.

Yawn.

Well then. You shouldn't be worried.

He is doing his job correctly.

(Dictators generally create worry in world leaders)

And Trump has been the only President with enough balls to address the problem head on. Makes the previous Presidents look like pansies.
