As a label reader, I see the words ‘Flavor Burst’ on my mango label from Peru.
What is flavor burst? Are they sneaking in injections of sugar water?
After much research, I am satisfied the Kent species’ ripening on the tree process gives it a natural burst of flavor.
Whew!

You didn't see the other label.

Caution:

Hold at arm's length away from face.
Poke gently with knife.

True, I find that Mangoes picked up from the ground under the trees near where I live very tasty.

Kind regards,

Well, if I read that, for sure I wouldn't buy that mango because either it would be overripe or they did inject it with sugar water.

It must be nice to live somewhere where tasty, ripe mangos are just lying around ready to be picked up.

Several trees growing locally are also targeted by bats and birds but I can generally find mangoes, wash them and later eat them.

These trees grow near the river and around some parks. I try to grow them up in the hills where I live but winter frosts, even a weeks worth, damage the plants. So I'm experimenting with shade cloth over the top of the smaller trees for late winter.

There are other properties nearby with good trees near the river and creeks but I'm further up. Still giving it a go.

Kind regards,

bally
