I thought the Newark NJ incident turned out to be a drone? At least the Jan 2019 sighting was claimed to be.

If you look at the motion of clouds on most days, you'll see that clouds at different elevations move in different directions.

How do you know which way the wind was blowing at the altitude of the object?
Wind can and often does blow in different directions at different altitudes.
Wind Speed and Direction at Different Heights
If you look at the motion of clouds on most days, you'll see that clouds at different elevations move in different directions.
