My all-time favorite car just broke the 300 mph barrier, from a standing start....in just ONE mile. It's called the Texas mile and dudes and dudettes bring their stuff for nothing more than the challenge.

This is a stock bodied car that is completely streetable, except it has a 2000 plus hp motor. The traction control is the key component as even the most skilled driver would just blow the tires off. Full control doesnt take place until after 200 something mph as the car has enough power to spin out from accleration.

Well done Ford GT....HERO of mine!!!!!

I saw this. Quite the feat of strength.

It's a shame that cars like the McLaren f1 are so rare no one can apply this sort of experimental power to them and see their true potential. Although the race version could easily reach 300, which was basically street legal as well.

I would like to buy a life insurance policy in the name of that driver.

One of my dream cars.... closest I've gotten is buying one on GTA V online.

One of these days though, man. One of these days it'll be the real McCoy...

The best thing is it is a stock bodied car. The original engineers thought it was good for 220 tops.

It's modified-thats cheating.

As good as the GT40 was it would be monstered by today's supercars. We are talking stock versions of road cars that can hit 260 mph easily.

Still it's cool, my dad helped build a 5000cc v8 powered motorcycle, sure you could ride it but it would be safer to ride a drunk giraffe while its trying to breakdance.

Lol....its racing so of course its modified!!!!

In fact...it is so much more fun building a sleeper that can take down supercars.

BA

I've done 200 on a superbike. 300 is almost unbelivable.

I love the looks of that thing. The way the thing pops when it shifts is cooool.

Here is the in-car view. It actually hits 306mph.
BTW, ultimate accessory.....a parachute handle!

I guess if you have enough money and balls, you can do anything.

Impressive feat though...

The last true supercars were built in the late 90s and early 2000s. The supercars of today's world are just super fast computers. And speed isn't everything, a few Lingenfelter engineers subtly modified a street legal Corvette in the 80's that went 250mph, in the rain.

And this babd boy requires the driver to depress an actual clutch pedal and change gears.
