Poor girl. Somebody give her a participation trophy!

from The Daily Mail

The Senate roundly rejected Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez's Green New Deal as expected on Tuesday with not a single senator voting 'yes' for the progressive star's signature policy initiative.
...
Democrats slammed Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell for holding a 'sham' vote on the matter - it was a non-binding resolution, meaning it had no force of law, and needed 60 votes to advance in the legislative process, which was an impossible task given Democrats only have 47 votes in their corner.

Most of the Democrats voted 'present' in protest while Democratic Sens. Joe Manchin, who represents the red state of West Virginia; Kyrsten Sinema of Arizona; and Doug Jones of Alabama voted no, as did Independent Sen. Angus King of Maine, who caucuses with Democrats.

The final vote was 57 nays and 43 present.

A political thang, but interesting, nonetheless.

I wonder if it'll affect the gal's future political prospects. Or does she even have any future political prospects?

I know we need to do something about reducing our negative impact on the ecosystem, but her plan was not the way to do that, in fact, it actually sabotaged a decent plan form being implemented.

We need to be better stewards of the environment, especially watching chemistry we dump into the environment, both on land and water and of course the sky. CO2 is not the worst thing, there are many other chemistries that are more important. I also do not believe we need to be flying all over the place.

AOC is a little overboard on some things, I think she does think she is doing good, but she has to do things the right way or it can cause more harm than good.

Dumping chemicals can be cheaper. I'd dump that crap anywhere I could. The environment isn't special. We'll have another home planet soon enough. We'll probably gain superpowers if we keep ingesting enough chemicals also.

You are an example of why this legislation was introduced.

The simple solution is to utilize nuke plants. It is more powerful than green tech.

Shes young. And was given the chance.

It's time to sit back, observe, learn, and refine her policies if she wants to stay in politics. The green new deal was never going to happen. And it was mismanaged from the get go.

Time to dissect it and start over.

She didn't even vote for her own idea, and people are worried about her.

Well, she is not in the Senate so...

That aside, she certainly did present her Climate/Economic/Socialist/Totalitarian plan with a giant heaping of youthful exuberance and nievete!

Showmanship score - 100%
Legislative Success Score - 0%

"I'm the boss...how about that?" , she said. Funnier now than when she said it!

That's cause she's not a senator.

Woah! 57-0??? Is that a record?

Look, if your idea gets voted down "For = 0", you just rolled a fumble (d20 = 0) and just shot yourself in the face! You should be kicked out right then and there. You proved that not even the democrats want you. That's pretty damn low.

"You rolled a ZERO. You slipped on a small, mysterious puddle left behind by Joe Biden and cracked your head on a pew. Oddly enough, there was no evidence of grey matter in your cranium shell. You are dead, never to be allowed among the democratic party again by reason of utter and complete stupidity. Even more stupidity than the democratic party could possible muster on their own".

AOC is a mentalist, a populist, a con.

No too dissimilar to someone else's rise in politics.

Yeah right
Trouble is that even superman needs to eat and if we kill off everything we eat, we will have to eat lab grown steak patties.

Shhhh...we are not supposed to have figured out yet that she and Bernie (among others) are actually full-blown Communists. She would never get elected running as a Communist, so she had to dress up like a Democrat.

The only question is if the more-moderate Liberals in the Democrat Party are going to wake up in time to stop their Party's complete derailment by these Communist infiltrators.

57-0 suggests that they just might be starting to come to their senses...but then again, maybe not.
