G'day friends !

Linda has bounced back from her setback and again can recognise us and tell us that she loves us !

The tubes have been removed from her throat with only a nasal feeding tube remaining.
She needed some mild sedation overnight as confusion and a fierce desire to rip out wires, feeding tube etc. and to get up, was becoming exhaustive. She has so much strength in her right side, while the paralysis still persists in her left side. She also still experiences confusion in as much as getting up is a focus of her determination, asking for help to get up being a constant.

All her vitals are stable and she is restive this morning.

Our Son Blake and his GF headed back to their place in Sydney ( 200km away ) as his boss had generously given him a week off his job as an apprentice builder, which I greatly appreciate as he was an invaluable asset to us during that time.
I am so glad that he got to see the huge improvements before he headed off ! They assured me they will be back on the weekend. πŸ˜€

So things are looking more positive than they were the past couple of days, which has buoyed my positivity greatly.

I'll be heading in shortly to spend some time doing whatever I can to help.

Again, I can not put too fine a point on just how much the prayers and support of all you fine folk have helped us thus far !

Onwards and upwards, with a smile ! πŸ˜πŸ‘πŸ‘

Thank you for the update

I don't respond to them all, but I do read and give stars in response. That's how I indicate that I read it.

From one horse passionata to another
I am happy for you, thus the pic.
That is my favorite scent. It brings memories of magic, joy and wonder. Where nothing is impossible. Where one is safe, to dream to live. Even for just a moment it is an eternity. You know.

Funny you mention horses,
we were on our way home from the hospital at about 1,:30 am last week when we came upon a big bay gelding and a miniature horse ( Shetland I think ) standing in the middle of our two laned side of the road !

Lucky we saw them so we stopped in such a way as no cars might hit them.

We called the Police and I led the big one off to the side of the road and midget followed ...

Different to say the least ! Lol !

Strange talk about horses, I took my car in to be assessed, and the lady customer service representative mentioned her horses, and I mentioned my experience with horses, all of a sudden things changed regarding fixing my car.

But, yeah, horses standing alongside the road...not good. Horses taking a nap in the field OK.

I am so very happy your wife is recovering as I hoped she would. Good luck, Timely.

Sedation can temporarily effect some people's ability to recognize others some times. It sounds like she is doing a little better, hopefully the setback issues quit happening too. I hope to hear she is doing even better, setbacks suck. Sounds like she is losing patients with all the tubes and wire hooked up to her.

Have the doctors even mentioned how long before she is able to start some kind of therapy or possibly go back home?

Too soon.
They are going to move her to a ward, still one on one care though.

We need to wait for swelling to go down. We will have a better prognosis then.

A day at a time, but she is stable which is all I can hope for at this stage.

Thanks.

any positive news is always welcome.

as you say a day at a time.

Hopefully soon you can look towards a week at a time and move forth back to some sort of normality after this shock of events that you and yours have gone through.

Best wishes

Linda is much more alert and speaking quite clearly today. She is also moving her left arm and foot ... which is excellent !

She is still suffering from confusion and has it in her mind that she wants ice cream with freshly brewed espresso coffee poured on it !
( she grew up with her step dads Italian family )

What an excellent birthday gift !!

😁
