Too many days since your last update, but I hope all is well.
There will be days when you wake up thinking it is all a bad dream, that is when you need courage.
You can do it, no matter how long or how much it takes, you can.
Because you wandered so far together. Because you loved.

Thanks Ladies ...

There is a meeting scheduled for tomorrow with Linda's team. I am a little apprehensive but will know more then.

Meanwhile physical improvement is visible and her appetite is making a comeback.

More after the meeting ...

Thanks again for your interest and support.

Glad to hear that there is physical improvement and that her appetite is coming back. I know that things move along at a snails pace and that can be frustrating, but hang in there. We are right beside you guys with our friendship and love, every day, every step of the way.

Hey Champ, how are things going? We are all ears.
When I sailed we always said "No news, is good news" I never liked that phrase. It scares me.
WIS hugs.

Linda is doing great physically, even doing some stair work and static pedalling.
She is also doing well with her speech pathologist and is demanding that I bring her burgers fries and ice cream !

The confusion is still there and will be a long process, however, her sense of humor and personality is still there along with a strong desire to go home !

The Dr's estimate another 4 to 6 weeks in re-hab hospital before either coming home or going into a share house situation ( which she is not keen on, nor am I ) so motivation to go home I think could be key in further short term improvement.

Forging ahead !

When it rains ... it pours.

Just learned that my Father passed away.

He was 86 and lived a full life, doing things he was passionate about.

Life in the country breeding horses; with cats, dogs and stray humans occupying his attention, was his calling.

He had time for all that needed it.

I will miss him.

Oh No. A great big WIS hug coming your way.

Your Father sounds like he lived his life to the fullest, but it doesn't make your loss less painfull in the moment.

I was happy to see how well Linda is doing now, thanks for the update, Sir.

I think goodbyes are the hardest thing we face. That he had time for all that needed it is probably the greatest calling we face---and one that not many manage. Sounds like a precious soul. Hugs, Timely, and a tip of the hat to your father.

"...a fierce desire to rip out wires, feeding tube etc. and to get up,..."

"She has so much strength in her right side..."

I think this shows just what a fighter she is.
My thoughts and prayers are with you all!

Lost my father unexpectedly at 59 years old in February this year. There's no words for the loss of one's father. I take comfort in that we lived longed enough together... that our fathers were able to pass down their values, teachings, and convictions to us.

May we live up to the examples that our fathers left us!

And may your wife live and thrive for another 60+ years is my hope and prayer this evening.

Thanks for your thoughts.

Dad's funeral is tomorrow and I have written a warm eulogy for him. There will be a good attendance of family and friends to send him off.

On a brighter note, Linda is allowed out for an hour or two on Saturday. We plan on getting a kebab or pizza and going to the beach !

We will be with you in spirit dear friend.

Wonderful news about Linda! It should be lovely for you both to spend quality time together away from the hospital.
