Beto wants to make America even greater, by removing the border barriers between U.S. and Mexico.

As President Trump said last week, Beto has a screw loose.

Not ONE of these douche twinkies has said a single word about freedom, expanding rights.

When a democrat wins an election the electoral college is a great thing. When a republican wins its, "OMG - we have to fix this broken system!"

If you look closely, you will see that democrats are systematically attacking all definable reasons they lost the last election. Well, all except the obvious lack of a good candidate. Everything else is fair game.

Electoral college cost you an election? Don't get a better candidate, abolish the electoral college.

Not enough illegal aliens voted for you? Don't bother trying to win legal votes, import more illegals and make sure they are allowed to vote in our elections.

Not enough votes to win key districts? Just keep 'discovering' more ballots until you win.

Older/smarter people not voting for your candidate? No problem. Just let kids vote.

Brilliant, thank you. That explanation actually makes an awful lot of sense.

Yes all of the mid west states and a majority would be under the thumb of CA and NY indefinitely. They would dictate national policy's and the president every 4 years.

I believe one constitutional scholar said, mockingly of the Democrats, "If you want the Hunger Games to become real, just get rid of the Electoral College." (paraphrase)

You can tell the millennials LOL there's been mostly blue and mostly red in enough different elections, that using always is a misnomer. LOL instead changing methods that have elected great presidents on both sides, and holding your breath till you turn purple just go win 1-2 more of those swing states. The system isn't outdated, the left's platform ignores huge segments of America geographically and demographically. The fact that the left can't turn the tide with such an abrasive president just furthers how clueless they are. If we go popular vote, the country will break up regionally and even statewide can certainly see that happening in the south and Texas at first. Id imagine such chaos would lead to wild fluctuations in the now local economies and riots, strikes and food shortages.

Actually then, given your edit, is there not a case that reform could actually be something to pursue - to restore more to its' original purpose?

Possibly a bad idea as we all know politicians can't help themselves......give them an inch and all that......

I think repealing the 17th Amendment and returning the Senate selection to State control would be great.

Not so sure about the 12th Amendment and the runner up, though it would make for excellent political theater.

Had to change it to be worded like that old mechanic my dad hired for his shop used to say.

Better yet, don't and say you did. You know people will throw up a little in their mouths reading those names strung together like that. Hell, you might need a license for that?

There they go again. Proving that this nation was truly created by genius's only to be ran by idiots. There is a lot of 'wisdom' in mob rule. Of course O' Dirt Eater isn't alone. Harris,Warr en,Cohen all agree with this stupidity.

Tuesday on MSNBC, Democratic presidential candidate Beto O’Rourke was asked about his rival Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) call to abolishing the Electoral College for presidential elections in favor of a national popular vote.

Yay mob rule!

By the power of 'Regenerative' Dirt.

You will comply.

Can't win the legal way.

Change the rules.

You know, none of these people had an issue with the EC when barak won elections.
It appears to me they are simply full of sour grapes. When they can't win they choose to attempt to change the rules.
This too will come back to bite them in the butt. Ask Harry Reid about how well changing the rules goes for the democrats.
Sad part is, many will buy into this bs.

Whoah, did that actually sound good when you said it? Because it makes no sense.

Obama won the 2008 election by 10 million votes. He won the 2012 election by 5 million votes. He ALSO won the electoral college votes, making it a normal and clear victory.

In 2016, Trump lost by 3 million votes, but through electoral college magic, he won anyway. This is unusual and that is the only reason anyone talks about it.

The Electoral College made sense when we were thirteen colonies. It makes ZERO sense in America of today.

Hillary Clinton would have been a horrible President, but that does not change logic. If the majority of America wanted her to be our leader (and they did), she should have been elected our leader. The entirety of the Constitution is based on the premise of "Minority rights, majority rule". As long as the majority does not infringe on the rights of the minority, then all is good.

The majority voted for Hillary. Bad decision? Probably. Should it have been upheld? Only if you believe in the Constitution.

It's not magic, it's math. The majority of Hillary's excess was confined to two or three states (CA, NY, IL).

I like to point out to people that while W did not get the national popular vote in 2000 vs. Gore, he *did* get the majority in 2004 vs. Kerry. That means that if the NPV had been in effect in 2004, then all the states that approved the NPV but voted for Kerry would have seen their votes nullified and EC's turned over to W. Funny thing, they don't seem as excited about the NPV after that.

Actually the Electoral College system today works better than ever.

It just took a long time to manifest.

So what? - well what about the Diebold vote rigging fiasco or even this...

buzzflash.com... rother

The US presidential election was a celebration of the triumph of media over matter. To an objective observer, two facts are clear: Gore won the nationwide popular vote, and according to a recent Miami Herald analysis, he was also in all likelihood the favorite of Florida voters as well... In a fair count, without shenanigans or election irregularities, the Miami Herald estimated Gore would have won Florida by 23,000 votes. The Bush strategy all along was to prevent a recount and run out the clock.

Jeb Bush wasn't just the governor of Florida in 2000; he was a key orchestrator and strategist in the theft of the Florida election on behalf of his brother. It was Jeb who tee'd up the ball and let Antonin Scalia hit it into the stands on behalf of George W. Bush.

But facts dont matter as long as your side won?

"Your side". Therein lies part of the problem of communication. I hated Bush (both), voted Obama, and then....voted Trump. Many like myself voted Trump because we knew that the whole system is rigged, including elections. It's a big club 'and you ain't in it'. Despite how much Trump makes some toss their cookies, it is evident that the 'club' hates him. Koch brothers, Soros, both parties, etc.

Both the 'left' and 'right' cheat in elections, depending how the wind blows. But, it was time to turn everything upside down. HRC was NOT supposed to lose.

Now that the Russia thing has waned, it is now about EC and voting age. I respectfully declare to wake the f up.
