I couldn't agree more. The voting age should be raised back to 21. Lowering the age to 16 only means we'll get policies favored by 16 year olds. In my state you aren't even allowed to drive by yourself until 17.

If you can't be trusted to drive a car, should you be entrusted with forming the government of your fellow citizens?

I also abhor voting rights for non-citizens. Anyone who is in favor of getting their vote cancelled out by a non-citizens vote should immediately leave, since you obviously have no idea how citizenship works in the first place.
Remember, a non-citizen does not necessarily mean "illegal alien". It could be someone from out of town voting in your town elections. They are "non-citizens" of your town and should not be able to vote for your selectmen. Duh! Why does this stuff even need to be explained!!?!?!?!?

The party of immature adults are reaching out to undeveloped kids. We shouldn't be surprised, but we should be shocked. I just can't imagine how much lower they can go.

Tear down the border wall
Green new deal
eliminate cars
eliminate cows
change every building to energy efficient building
Abort babies in the 3rd trimester
kill the electoral vote
lower the voting age to 16
legalize drugs
global warming will kill us in 12 years
Green new deal will stop global warming in 15 years
ban firearms

The list of idiocy goes on and on and on. In a way it's scary, but in a way it's a blessing because it may take something like this to truly wake Americans up.

I'm not on board with this.

I hope these two don't win the nomination. Or anyone calling for this.

I hope one of these moronic ultra libs do win the nomination, as it almost assures Trump's second term.

My belief is that, inorder to win the Dem nomination, any candidate will have to be so far left, they won't be able to move far enough towards center to win in the general.

Fingers crossed.

Yes, we know. Nebraska and Vermont(?) are not winner take all. The EC's are divided by winners of congresisonal district, then the 2 senatorial ECs go to the State winner.

The point is, each State determines how their Electors are determine based on their internal votes and citizen's decisions.

S & F as it isn't really a topic i know much about, so all new knowledge is a plus.

However, as an outsider, could you explain why you think this is such a bad thing? As an outsider, the Electoral Colleges do seem rather unfair (in their weighting, etc).

Like i say, it is one aspect of your political system that i don't know beyond the very basics. I do seem to recall Republicans saying they were unfair in the past (but possibly that is just old age providing false memories!).

I fear the day is rapidly approaching that Drain the Swamp won’t cut it anymore and will instead be Purge the Swamp. And that DC will only be the beginning.

Trust the man, trust the plan.

As an American, you have the sovereign right to deny that future. Through whatever means necessary, to ensure this nation continues down the path of Constitutional righteousness vs. illegal tyrannical heathenism (lesser forms of life, ie: socialists, commies, etc)

That's where I am, personally.

Along with "outright ignore any and all gun laws at your own discretion"

They are simply unenforceable. But any attempts to disarm Patriots should be met with the most severe consequences, up to and including regime change.

There is no action too extreme for preserving, protecting and defending our Constitution - including 2A, and including Article 4 Section 4 (which makes lesser systems of tyranny, such as socialism, patently illegal under the Constitutional order)

If Patriots play our cards right....

Our Founders studied history of fallen empires and saw that placing executive powers in the hands of a person with simple majority support led to tyranny. They designed the Electoral College with the idea that each State would would have some measure of input and whoever became the President would need the support of different regions of the country, not just population centers.

For example, look at 2016. Sure, Hillary won 3 million more votes than Trump, but remove California from the equation and Trump won the popular vote of the other 49 states. Why should one state have more say? Likewise, Trump won the majority votes of 30 states to Hillary's 20. He was the prefered choice of more *regions* of the country than Hillary.

What it boils down to is the leaders who placed their lives on the line to break away from one King and his Empire did not want to create another.

EDIT/ADD:

Bear in mind also, the runner-up of the Presidential race became the VP and 'President of the Senate', and if we had not amended the COTUS it would be Hillary deciding ties in the Senate right now, not Pence. She would be one heartbeat away from the Presidency (shudder).

Also, the COTUS was amended 100 years ago and now Senators were chosen by state popular vote instead of by State Governments, that really screwed up the balance of powers. We've meddled enough, in my opinion.

Im not gonna lie, this scares the absolute crap out of me.

TPTB are desperate because they see their long term plans evaporating and are just going all out.

I genuinely believe Americans need forget feelings and nonsense, think logically and choose a side.

Do they really want what the Democrats are offering? Not within generations but potentially within 1 year, if they had their way the millions upon millions of illegal immigrants who are in the country will be deciding your president.

What they are suggesting goes against everything your country was built on, they are traitors plain and simple.
If you cant support Trump at least dont support those who would change your democracy to get into power

Your edit is spot on. Especially with regard to the popular vote of senators. The states no longer have representation as out of state money and interests get senators elected.

The EC is a lot harder to hack/rig compared to voting machines.

Second verse same as the first verse.

You're right. Tons of rainbows, probably some unicorns stashed away, too. A liberal utopia and I think it's only fair we pay the one way tickets for all liberals to go there and become Venezuelan citizens forever. I will HAPPILY pay.

Actually then, given your edit, is there not a case that reform could actually be something to pursue - to restore more to its' original purpose?

Possibly a bad idea as we all know politicians can't help themselves......give them an inch and all that......

Yes all of the mid west states and a majority would be under the thumb of CA and NY indefinitely. They would dictate national policy's and the president every 4 years.

Despite the current hyperbole I don't think there is much that would start a hot civil war in this country but I do think trying to totally repel the 2nd Amendment and abolish it or getting rid of the EC are two things that just wouldn't stand for a lot of citizens and would lead to one.

The founders were absolutely brilliant in their foresight.

Of course they want to change the rules. If the bar can be lowered to fit an agenda, the dems will do it. I am surprised they haven't tried to pass a bill that gives additional voting weight to minorities and the gender dysfunctionals. As an example a white male has one vote, a white female 2 votes, a minority male 10 votes, minority female 20 votes, a mentally handicapped gender dysphoric transgender minority 1000 votes. I bet they'd try it if the could lol.

Cheers - Dave

OOOPH. I hope they don't get wind of your post. They're dumb enough to try something like that.

Did you know that the soros "GEMS" based electronic voting machines can do just that, fractional voting. They can also be hacked/reprogrammed on-the-fly to reflect any voting outcome you want based on a few tweaking changes to the fractional voting system based on race, gender, religion and political ideology. You can have the losing party winning by a landslide or just 1%. It's the perfect tool for any up and coming dictatorship, fascist or totalitarian regime!

It's a brave new world lol.

Cheers - Dave

Why do that when the voting machines can do it for them automatically?

That bill that's been passed by a couple of states in which they choose their electors based upon the national popular vote rather than the vote of their own state is another end run around to attempt to circumvent the EC. I took at look at that and found that that whole scheme was dreamed up by some professor.

Both of these tell me that they know that there's no way they would be able to get an amendment ratified to change the EC, so they're looking for a way to get around having to do so.
