Oh for carp sake. If this is true, then I want every non-white to stop driving gas powered cars. White people created the car, and electric powered homes, and many many things. OH you say don't be stupid there Guyfriday, well how about this;
A few months ago I was told to stop driving my Lincoln Towncar because it's a "Black people car". What the F...… What is wrong with these people. Black dude had a White girl friend, and had to go there about my car. These dumb-ass anti-cultural appropriation people need to figure out what is part of a culture, and what isn't. Then they need to look around at what culture they are in before they open their mouths.

Now I'm going to go off and play my didgeridoo, my bag pipes, and any other loudly sounding instrument that sounds bad when played by someone who doesn't have a clue how to play it.

The proper response and point I believe the OP to be making is that you can not appropriate culture. If you could then everyone is a racist. Well those that live in the modern world anyway.

Cultural appropriation is BS and a tool that is being used. At least to some effect.

So why do aboriginals play guitar, oh. hangon, they invented the guitar, and the drums and the keyboard and the synthesizer and, oh Aussie Rules. Have I mistaken this thread?

I play the Didge and don't need anyones permission to do so. I can carve my own. So? I was taught by aboriginals and I am not a white devil, I am Tjungala.

No one has appropriated the Didge much less than the Stradivari.

Where do you peeps dig this crap from? Oh,,,your minds...you are insulting a race.

kind regards,

bally

I knew a pakeha in Perth who wore a full moko. He had permission, and it was his own story. We were sitting in that old pub on hay street mall, that went down stairs, into a dingy pub full of dodgy miscreants, and he had to go. I was left sat there finishing my pint, when a Maori came up to me, huffing and puffing and asking me "Who does he think he is wearing that?" and what seemed to be preparing to beat the white out of me.

I just looked, with puppy dog eyes, at this hulking 180kg of angry muscle and whimpered "ionno.." and he stormed off... for me to see Kenny standing behind him, giving me the evil eye for not telling him to go Kia Ora himself.

In a pub full of Noongars, I was threatened by a Maori and a Pakeha for the Pakeha culturally appropriating Maori culture.. Glad they shut that pub down lol

Have you ever tried playing a Digerydoo? If you can master circular breathing, you deserve the honor.

I played the hoover nozzle. Shouldn't count as appropriation though. I sucked at it.

Oh I totally disagree. I think that in order for any culture to grow it needs to appropriate elements from other cultures. People take in ideas and arts from other cultures and use what they have learned to build out their own culture by adding the appropriated items they like to it. When you look at any culture in the world, this is what they have been doing since people have been up right. If we didn't do this, then only that one group would have fire still while another would have the roundy wheelie thing. We advance as a society by taking the parts of what we like in other cultures and adding it to our, while removing from that culture the stuff that we either don't like or is incompatible with our own. Other cultures do this too, so it's not a white thing, brown thing, black thing, or any other crayon color thing. It is a human thing.

Except what you are describing doesn't align with the 'mass produced' term of cultural appropriation.

Cultural appropriation is often considered harmful, and to be a violation of the collective intellectual property rights of the originating, minority cultures, notably indigenous cultures and those living under colonial rule.[2][6][7] Often unavoidable when multiple cultures come together, cultural appropriation can include using other cultures' cultural and religious traditions, fashion, symbols, language, and music.

Dictionary.com link

Cultural appropriation is the act of adopting elements of an outside, often minority culture, including knowledge, practices, and symbols, without understanding or respecting the original culture and context.

Absolutely. I mean, think about it.. hundreds of thousands of years ago there are two tribes, and one has discovered fire. The other mob see it and think "Noice, burnt food looks a lot better than this raw bisen meat. Give us a go!" and are told to bugger off and stop trying to appropriate their culture.

And don't start on language. Most languages are based on common archaic languages.

We'd never have evolved without sharing common things, language, science, maths, art..

This is nothing more that "Oi you, put my idea down."

Yep, and I have other gripes about the ill use of words people use now days. Appropriating bits and pieces of other cultures is very important for society. These people that like to throw words together (like Democratic Socialist) seem to either don't fully understand what they are saying, or are trying really hard to get others to do what they want through word play.

I'll let the readers decide. As for me I'll stand by my statement.

Although its not like I go around with a Token Aborigine... you monster!

Exactly, can't help it now. Family has been through ceremony. Does that makes us monsters. Oh, the irony. It's called experience. And the word Aborigine is offensive to all. Properly, it's Aboriginal. And yes you have proven you are Racist.

Kind regards,

Sir Jin,

Sorry mate, don't know where you are coming from with this one. And, to add I think I do. But your response here has that double edged sword aspect to it. Cultural Appropriation occurs even to day.; Heck, just look at 'modern' tech that gets stolen.

So when you say "Cultural Appropriation is BS and a tool that is being used." Could you please expand on that statement."

Kind regards and respect,

bally

First I think it needs to be noted that the OP is complete satire, yea?

Cultural appropriation, by all notable standards is needed, if any culture wished to increase in size and/or progress. In recent years it has been turned into something bastardized with negative connotations abound. This recent change has been used as a divisive tool rather than the inclusive tool it was standardized as.

Satire? Can't agree with that mate. You cannot nowadays satire racism these days. I am no White Devil.

Cultural appropriation happens all over the world and has for many years. I call it adjustment and adaption. Some people can't do that. The didge isn't patented as far as I know, nor the boomerang, spear, woomera, nulla nulla. Like religion, no one person is the specific owner, only a leader to bring more into the fold.

Now, I can satire you if I want, (which I wouldn't) and perhaps you wouldn't understand the satirical remarks if I twisted the words but if I was actually being satirical I would admit it first and foremost. This isn't the case in this thread.

Kind regards and respect Sir Jin,

bally
