Do you have to protect your roses from the cold? If not, you should be fine with pyracantha, at most it might inhibit it a bit, which isn't a bad thing, it is a beast. Also Berberis, almost as vicious as pyracantha but more numerous in varieties so there is likely a few hardier ones. They're both evergreens too.
