Some photos of the fire at this Link

The first a photo taken by Josh McMillan shows an aerial view of the smoke from the Deer Park plant fire.

Taken on a flight departing Houston Intercontinental Airport.

It gives a good indication of the length.

Thanks for that...apparently I have been watching the same video 3 times now thinking it was still a live feed...lol

While this is burning I keep on thinking why not every installation has one of these systems installed?

Peace

This is really bad stuff. If the winds shift this could be very bad. The area needs to be evacuated.

Looks as though the wind is SE, which is typical for Houston. That will move the plume generally north of the city.

The original fire had been put out. New fire which may be controlled. One tank has ruptured with has liquid flowing down a ditch through the plants.

The community is advised that at approximately 12:15PM, the dike wall at Intercontinental Terminals Company (ITC) Deer Park containing the product released during the recent fire event partially collapsed.

This should probably be on its own thread, but hey ho.

There has been another explosion at a chemical plant, near Houston at Crosby.

A massive explosion tore through a chemical plant in Crosby, Texas, Tuesday, killing at least one person, injuring two others and promoting a shelter-in-place order for the surrounding community as firefighters worked to extinguish an apparently out-of-control fire there, officials said.

Crosby Chemical Fire

Let's hope that it's just a coincidence.
