Posting Youtube videos with odd url code?

Hello. How do you post a youtube video that has that weird code after the normal part? Example, Normal code V=abcdefghij Weird code V=abcdefghij=ivv4s

Do you understand what I mean? Thanks!

each element is separated, so just the code itself, works.

seems you got it though!

basically remove the unwanted parts, if the video still loads, theres your ticket.

Here's an example:
/watch?v=NpOtkhBcc8k&list=PLbCCLBEbi3lVUC7nwQdcowRHAgSEw4NTs&index=7&t=0s

The "video number" would be "NpOtkhBcc8k", immediately after the "watch?v=".
Anything including and after the "&" symbol gets ignored. All you have to do is copy and paste your corresponding video number into the youtube video upload thing.

The data being passed as parameters in the query string (stuff after the "?") are field / value pairs separated by "&". The field and value are separated by an "=".

The value in the field named "v" is the video ID. So use the characters after the "v=" and before the trailing (next) "&".

Find the below part in the url

watch?v=b_jqx-vACHg

cut the b_jqx-vACHg characters out

(that is the video ID)

click the youtube icon above the text box on the posting page

paste in the b_jqx-vACHg

click OK

I believe the "weird code" mentioned in the OP was taken from a video which had been stopped in the middle, so the code included instructions to start the video later than the beginning.
From memory, the extra code would be something like "&t=50s", which starts the video running 50 (or whatever) seconds after the beginning. That's the code which mucks things up and needs to be deleted.

People just need to use the value after the "v=", up to an "&" if one follows. The value of the "v" key or field.

I suppose key/value pairs are a difficult concept for many.
