This is just one more example of how our "elected leaders" aren't fit to serve. Blumenthal and MANY others have ZERO understanding of internet culture. It was unbelievably obvious during the Facebook hearings when what maybe one question was asked of Zuckerberg that the questioner showed at least a basic understanding of the internet. Hillary showed it when she asked if they wiped her server with a "cloth or something". Now this, these morons took exactly 12 seconds to go and do exactly what this psychopath troll wanted them to do, he states it right in his looney "manifesto". the internet is not going to become less important moving forward, they're already talking about regulating certain things, hacking attempts on utilities and the likes in this country, solar storms possibly taking down our grid, and the folks in charge have proven they don't understand any of it.

Trump has already declared himself a nationalist. Just a matter of time before he adds the word 'white' to the front and all his supporters will clamor to his defense, 'It's not the same!' or, my favorite, 'It was taken out of context!'

As I have said before it has become inherently clear that our school systems have broken down to the point that higher learning is no longer taught, and ideologies substituted.

Its going to take two to three decades to un-screw this sh.t show of idiocy that is now taught, and even at that my spidey senses are telling me it wont be long until these crazed lunatics no longer throw lies, but rather stones?

Just hope I am wrong?

Sure, we can go with that.

Hell, people who call themselves Democrats are labelled as communists so...it won't make much difference.

It's obviously not directly Trump's fault, but acting like Trump is some anti-racist beacon is laughable. He doesn't ever call out racism for what it is. He doesn't call out the acts for what they are. There is a -reason- that many supremacists enjoy having Trump in office. For someone in his position, purposely ignoring the obvious and refusing to call it out for what it is, is to some (crazy and racist) people's eyes, the same as advocating that behavior.

Is Trump to blame? No. Is Trump in any way a detriment or a pillar against racism and hate crimes? Hell no.

He doesn't ever call out racism for what it is. He doesn't call out the acts for what they are.

That's just a fancy way of saying he doesn't agree with you.

The progressives have painted themselves into a corner with the constant cries of "RACIST!" and are now furiously trying to paint themselves out. It can't work. The word has been corrupted and now no longer has any meaning. At one time it did... and it was a powerful tool against the true racists that allowed their hatred to spill over into society. But as time went on, and more and more people were called racist for things that were not defined by actions but rather by words and even lack of words, the term became useless. Everyone is racist. And if everyone is racist... no one truly is any more.

To those of us who remember it, the word carries terrible connotations. It evokes an era where innocent people were tried and convicted solely because of the color of their skin. It brings back memories of the second-class citizen, shunned from "polite society" because they were seen as less human... in some cases by some true racists, as not even human at all. It conjures up thoughts of being in societal chains, unable to live in certain places, to even visit others, to have any contact with the so-called "superior" race.

To those who throw that word around today, it means nothing more than "I don't like you and I can't explain why." They are the true racists, for that is the exact same thinking that led to actual racism: "I don't like you and I can't explain why... so it must be your skin tone." You have abused the word for so long by using it to attack those who you claim to do as you actually do, you have given the actual racists power again.

Now the lessons of history must be repeated. May humanity learn them this time. May you learn them this time.

Not everything in the world is the result of this mysterious group you call "racists," but bigotry and prejudice reside in the heart of almost every person to some extent; beware demanding that others call you out for what you do. In this new lesson, you may be the target. That's not a good thing. Last time, too many did not survive being the target.

Why does racism have to be pointed out by elected officials except to cause division? Maybe some people just deal with it like the current president. Trump has passed more legislation to help African Americans since they earned the right to vote.

If you want to somehow connect a shooting New Zealand to White Power in America go ahead but ALL it does is empower those you are connecting it to and not protecting those they hate.

I. Saw this bull all day yesterday morons blaming this on nationalist ,Trump and Nora yet this went down in new Zealand on the other side of the planet and was done by an Aussie. Look first off Islam is a religion based around teachings of the warlord and prophet Mohammed it is not a race. This gunman was a nut. He has not one thing to do with America, Trump, the Nora or any other crap mms tries to link him to.. it's truly a tragedy what happened to those poor people and it does not need to be politicized.

It was obvious that MSM would be blaming this attack on nationalists when considering leftists in Europe needed a boost Politically.

Equal protection under the law, the 14th amendment, and others can force diversity onto others legally.....

That is a gross misunderstanding of the 14th amendment.

The 14th gives everyone the RIGHT to be a bigot. As per the EQUAL protection, and the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

No state shall make or enforce any LAW than abridges privileges or immunities.

Except when they can. Peoples right to be a bigot isnt universal as seen in the examples in my last post.

Is it really surprising? Every shooting has always been backed up with "We must disarm civilians". They will pin anything on anyone just to get their way.

Violence and vengeance aren't motivators and should never be.

and yet.....

Extremists, both left and right, should be resisted with forcefulness equal to or greater than they would use against us. I am not advocating anything more than our parents and grandparents were forced to do

no youre just advocating pre violence on people based on what they think, along with dismemberment, and possibly even Sharia Law in order to get it done in some cases......

I was not suggesting this be applied in anything but this specific situation.

Nor do I expect that it would ever be.

It was an expression of my anger and hurt and I fully retract it.

Youre an extremist dude......and you need to step back and evaluate what youre saying..

and I hope to hell in the future I dont have to come back on this site and find out another member here is in the news

I would never actually hurt anyone.

This just cuts closer to home due to some situations I'm dealing with right now and I realize that my response has been inappropriate.

Then I understand and fully apologize for any assumptions or misgivings I may have had considering your comments in light of the situation......

Again, I dont think youre a bad person, I dont agree with a lot youve said, but as youve stated, this hits close to home and the anger and emotions are high and I should have taken that into account.....

I apologize for being unfair......

Please forgive me for that........

Thank you.

That's understandable, but then when it comes to issues in the US that "cuts close to home," you have been quite unforgiving... even hateful at many times. I am all about understanding and forgiveness, but forgiveness without some repentance is not forgiveness... it is acceptance.

I do not accept anything you have posted in this thread.

I have not before made any statement about this shooting. The primary reason is simple: not my country, not my business, but I have said many silent prayers for those affected. What Christchurch experienced is a complete and utter tragedy. But to be honest, there is a second reason: I knew that you would be here, doing what you always do: trying to somehow make this the fault of your political opponents, twisting facts and mutilating history in your anger and vitriol to somehow turn every event into a way to attack those you do not like, and all the while ignoring the real issues that led up to this shooting.

You have serious issues if you think for one moment that this insane animal had anything to do with US politics. I hope you can someday overcome them. Moreso, I hope you can someday overcome them without more of your own countrymen having to die for you to awaken. We have many over here who are in the same position, and I wish the same for them. We are repeating history, because we failed to learn the lessons the last time around. Perhaps it is time to learn instead of politic.

TheRedneck

Honestly, do you think that the mindset that responds to every mass shooting suggesting that we should have more people with more guns, is particularly sane and balanced? You'd think that a reasonable someone might have figured things out by now.

What happened in Christchurch isn't a about the US. It is about some cancerous memes that are international.

Do you support the proliferation of weapons and talk about it on ATS?

I know it is "hateful" of me to mention it, but isn't that an undeniable part of the problem?
