This is part of a Reuters-published profile on O’Rourke published March 15. These are words Beto actually wrote.

“One day, as I was driving home from work, I noticed two children crossing the street. They were happy, happy to be free from their troubles,” O’Rourke wrote. “This happiness was mine by right. I had earned it in my dreams.”

“As I neared the young ones, I put all my weight on my right foot, keeping the accelerator pedal on the floor until I heard the crashing of the two children on the hood, and then the sharp cry of pain from one of the two. I was so fascinated for a moment, that when after I had stopped my vehicle, I just sat in a daze, sweet visions filling my head.”

I simply don't care that this is "fiction". Anyone who could come up with this stuff is not right in the head by wide margin. Hopefully, the left that loves this guy and his ilk will come to their senses.

Anyone who makes an excuse for this kind of writing or thinking is also clearly defective. This should only bring condemnation. Anybody out there care to excuse him, or can we all agree he is a scary nut job?

More than that, it says he will take whatever he deems is your happiness because he deserves it. Like your money or guns or property or freedom as examples.

Just needs enough people to vote it all away for him.

I don't know man, that's some pretty "deep" stuff.

Really makes one think about life, from a cosmic level right down to an insect. I think it's prolific and just proves that beto is really the whole package.

It sort of explains the socialist's mentality. You have something I "deserve" . I don't have it because you have it. I "deserve" to take it from you. Everyone "deserves" what you have even if it means taking it from you.

Who cares? It's fiction, for cat's sake. No one claims Stephen King kills New England kids, or that Terry Brooks is actually a wizard.

Didn't this guy got caught drunk driving and tried to flee from the scene?

I knew someone would excuse it. Someone with no moral basis.

So do you think someone could be an OK person if they wrote a fiction piece about raping kids? Is there no line in your world?

I guess you've never heard of the best selling author in modern history. If Beto is 'not right by a large margin' Stephen King must be like the older and more deranged big brother of Satan.

I don't like Beto, but come on.

To be fair, I think Stephen King is not right in the head and wouldn't want him leading the country under any circumstance. I find it terribly sad that the excuses are ," but someone else is worse".

Stephen's trick(and most authors) is to come up with a character and then tell the story about them.

That way when you read about someone doing something like that, it gets projected onto the character. Even in fiction.

And Stephen King, much like Beto, has no business ever running for public office.

Nice deflection. Yes or no, if he had written about raping kids, would you find that OK as well? You are claiming that writing about running over kids is OK, what about raping? If not, why draw any line?

Shifting goalposts to boot. Since he didn't, you're own little deflection is irrelevant. Try again. Stick to the actual issues, not whataboutism, mate.

Ok..here we go :

Fiction, noun : something feigned, invented, or imagined; a made-up story.

How is this a case against someone? Please, for the love of Ra, explain that.

“My dream was abruptly ended when I heard a loud banging on the front window. It was an old man, who was using his cane to awaken me. He might have been a witness to my act of love. I was not sure, nor did I care. It was simply ecstasy. As I drove home, I envisioned myself committing more of these 'acts of love,' and after a while, I had no trouble carrying them out. The more people I killed, the longer my dreams were. ... I had killed nearly 38 people by the time of my twenty-third birthday, and each one was more fulfilling than the last.”

I find that quote from his story the most disturbing.

It's hard to say what led him to write that. It could just be he was going for shock value, or it could be the first signs of him being a sociopath which generally happens around that age from what I've read.

No, this is not like King, not at all.

Specifically what am I deflecting? You are just putting buzzwords down like word-salad, but have not mentioned an issue I should stick to nor asked me to make any stand or stance to be deflecting.
