Truthfully, my mother would love eating over at your place.

She was the reason I grew up using Catalina French as a steak sauce. She made sure every piece of meat on our table was cooked to within an inch of its life. If there was the barest sliver of pink in it, it was underdone.

How many people know beans are toxic and cooked slow without boiling is a no-no?
Beans must be boiled to destroy the lectins.

Beans contain a compound called lectin. Lectins are glycoproteins that are present in a wide variety of commonly-consumed plant foods. Some are not harmful, but the lectins found in undercooked and raw beans are toxic

He had to be put down because of a botched castration...

I didn't try him.. He was too cute.

It was at a large feast I attended.

The farmers didn't want to waste him.

If pigs don't want to be bacon, then why are they made of bacon?

I don't know how any sane person could argue that.

The sauce on the steak thing kind of makes me sad, so does over cooking it... But at the end of the day this was a lighthearted thread for laughs on a slow day.

I dated a girl once years ago who's sister ate salads plain, she couldn't eat them with dressing... It blew my mind. I typically like just a light dressing (Makoto ginger dressing is great, but it has soy, so beware)

Just chewing leafs is hard though, not enough moisture.

To each their own though. Happiness is hard enough to find in life, food seems to be the universal way people can be happy and come together.

What's for dinner tonight...hmmm
Extra well done steak, soy sauce, plain salad, fries with mayo.. check!!

Your poor husband....

Anything, and I mean anything with """GARLIC""". I think these tele chefs get huge backhanders of the garlic promotion growers. These people are the spawn of the Devil. My sister-in-law included.
I seen people eating spare ribs with a knife and fork and even a burger.
But the killer, people who only half cook meat so blood runs out of it when you cut into it. The trouble is I seen these so called top chefs saying that is the way. I've even seen a steak so rare a good vet would have brought it round.

You are wrong good sir. Garlic is food from the gods!

And steak should be medium-rare. No if, ands, or buts.

She's channeling DB with this post...

Not possible, DB wouldn't even fit in the English Channel.

That stuff is the Devil's spawn.

We were trying not to derail the thread into a soy boy debate. But here we go.... SOY BOYS REEEEEEEEEE

This thread has clearly demonstrated that politics isn't the most disgusting thing on this site, the most disgusting thing is what some people shovel in their gob and call 'food'.

I thought it is a list of things the poster does not like.

I correct:
Oh my god, I certainly do not put catsup on pizza.
And I like my meat medium-rare.

That's pretty funny. Believe it or not, I am actually an above average cook, and my husband and kids, and friends and everyone that has ever tasted my cooking loves it.
I even won a recipe contest many moons ago.
Just because I have my own eating preferences does not mean I impose them on others.
